Yep, they announced their tour. I was so hoping they'd stick to Rick's songs but sadly, it already appears they are already promoting their tour with the songs from the band's voice and co-founder, Roger Hodgson. Does Rick have that little confidence in his own material? He has some great songs.  Why not promote with his own?   This is from a release for their Brussels date with six of the nine songs being Roger's:

Le 9 décembre, nous pourrons tous revivre notre jeunesse au Palais 12 en écoutant les nombreux tubes de Supertramp. « Bloody Well Right », « Give a little bit », « The logical song », « Goodbye Stranger », « Take the Long Way Home », « Dreamer », « Breakfast in America », « It’s Raining Again » et « Cannonball » nous feront remonter le temps jusqu’à cette époque où tout était bien moins compliqué.

If you're a fan of Supertramp, see Roger in concert. Supertramp hasn't posted on their Facebook page or site for five years until now and it appears they expect to pick up right where they left off. In the meantime, Roger Hodgson has been touring the world every year and playing his classics he recorded with Supertramp and wonderful material from his solo albums. Many people are not aware that although Roger and Rick shared writing credit, they actually wrote separately and they each sang their own songs. Roger gave us the band's greatest hits. ^ They promote the concerts with Hodgson's songs, because most of the radio hits are his but they play a lot of Davies' songs. Do you think those who only listen to them on the radio know Rudy or From Now On? They certainly don't. Ermm Here's a setlist from 2010:

You Started Laughing
Gone Hollywood
Put on Your Old Brown Shoes
Ain't Nobody but Me
Breakfast in America
Cannonball
Poor Boy
From Now On
Give a Little Bit
Downstream
Rudy
It's Raining Again
Another Man's Woman
Take the Long Way Home
Bloody Well Right
The Logical Song
Goodbye Stranger
School
Dreamer
Crime of the Century

*sigh* Cry  My first favorite progressive band, and I never got to see them live... and because I live in the cultural back water of USA, I probably never will.  (And I have always been more of a Rick than Roger fan... although I love them both TOGETHER).  Oh yeah, that's right.  I almost forgot.  They aren't Kanye or Beyonce so they aren't artists or musicians..... BARF!

Is it too much to ask to see Roger and Rick together again on the same stage?  I love them both equally, but dammit Supertramp needs both of them. Cry

Pipe dreams, I suppose.  Maybe accentuated by my listening to Roger's "Eye of the Storm" album the other day and wishing there was one or two Rick Davies songs in there.  Or listening to "Brother Where You Bound" and missing Roger's.... wait a minute.... I could just program my playlist and make them a double album!

Thanks, Technology!!

I'm a staunch "Rick is Supertramp" guy myself, don't care much for Rog or the fact he wrote the "hits".
But what a shame they couldn't bury the hatchet for one last go.

Supertramp hates the USA these days. *sighs*

I paid to see them again. It's been too long since the Cannonball tour.
