Topic: Flash vs Green Lantern Posted: January 13 2015 at 05:27 |
Two awesome superheroes with unique personalities, and powers, one is superfast the other is supercreative, one is intergalactic cop, the other a urban hero, I have not yet started watching Flash, but im looking forward to it, i sort of liked Green Lantern movie, but i would not mind a series, in the same vain and universe as Arrow and Flash, (and Gotham). I feel these two alongside Superman are cool powerhouses of heroes,, who is cool to toy with their origin and convension, and nice to get to know them in more modern settings. ![http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100630235501/theflash/images/7/71/The_Flash_Barry_Allen-9.jpg http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100630235501/theflash/images/7/71/The_Flash_Barry_Allen-9.jpg](http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100630235501/theflash/images/7/71/The_Flash_Barry_Allen-9.jpg)

GL is my favorite of the two. What Geoff Johns did when he brought Hal Jordan back and into the modern era, is still one of my favorite all-time comic stories. Not to mention what he did with him after that.
If we're talking from a purely design standpoint, I'd give it to Flash easily. He has one of the coolest costumes ever. The simpler, the better, IMO.
Haven't been able to get into the TV series for Arrow or Flash. But Kevin Smith's rebirth of Green Arrow is also a fantastic comic.

For some odd reason ever since i've known of Flash i've hated him
Just sooo... lame?
GL on the other hand is a cool concept and an interesting "community"/lore etc

^He's never around long enough to get to know?
FWIW, I was hesitant about the new Flash series having grown up seeing the disaster that was the 90's Flash, but I have to admit this one isn't so bad. I'll be interested to see how it develops over season two.

I'm going to get into trouble for saying this but I think that The Flash is gay. I have nothing against homosexuals but he is definitely gay.

Ryan Reynolds ruined the Green Lantern much like Seth Rogan ruined the Green Hornet. I can't see why DC comics signed off for either of these films. The Green Lantern is my choice.

I thought Reynolds was a decent Hal Jordan. He hit all the marks of the cocky pilot/space cop. It was the crap script that did GL in at the box office. Agreed on Rogen's Hornet. That was miserable.

If I were to get my choice of super powers, I would choose Green Lantern's. I could amuse myself all day with creative and amusing solid 3D shapes and still get to fly. The Flash's power seems a little more hyper than I would care to be. I liked the Green Lantern movie, but have heard from others who didn't, though I don't quite understand why. If a better story was premium, DC should have gone for a Green Lantern / Green Arrow movie.

I started reading both Marvel and DC in the early 60's and stopped around '69 when I went to college. My mom asked me what I wanted to do with my 2 stacks of comics...I told her give them away or throw them out. ![Cry Cry](smileys/smiley19.gif) ....heh...I didn't know any better then. Always liked Lantern better than Flash but liked Marvel heroes best of all.
