^ Why not do some research on eBay or Discogs, to see what these sell for? On Discogs you can look up sales prices (and the history thereof with highest/lowest/average etc) not only by the title, but also by the release.

If it sounds as good as TER it's great, my copy of TDB lacks that powerful sound. I have the 2011 remaster by the way, I don't know how's the original.
My copy of Trilogy is also German, but issued by Manticore. It's the lightest vinyl in my collection, so it obviously doesn't sound very good |

There is a site called 'popsike' where you can see how much an album is worth. The results are generally from various auction results, but it mixes it all up to give an 'average mean' value. It's interesting to browse through, although once you've looked up a dozen or so titles it stops (I'm assuming you have to sign up or something ??). But check again the next day for more results etc.

^ so far, only the Hawaiian Strings was found to be in "good" condition = can be played with an "expensive" ($100.00) cartridge. My vinyl cleaning machine is down, so cleaning is painfully slow and unsure

There are always the fleabay sites.....To get your best value sell them on audio sites, but most probably you need to join. For example AudioKarma (AK), has a BarterTown where you can sell but need to join and pay a small fee. People sell vinyl there all the time.....or there is CL. Good luck.

Half-speed master by Metropolis Mastering in UK.....Simply stunning sound, on More Fool Me it just feels like Phil is in the room.

Have you tried the Scrubbing Bubbles process? I have on a few $1/LP finds and it does a good job getting grime off. You need to protect the label somehow........I bought some round electrical covers that are weatherproof so they have a gasket. Drilled a hole in both and use a nut and bolt to screw thru the spindle hole, that helps keep the label dry. Then you can rinse them in the sink and use the spray hose for more pressure.....tedious but it works well on those bargain finds. |

^ I have been contemplating designing some kind of water-tight covers for the labels .. I might try your idea.
I have tried to soak records in all kinds of foamy cleaners; there are three things to watch out for: because of the water surface tension, it's terribly hard to get any liquid deep inside the grooves (even with a surfactant). Also, domestic cleaners have additives, and some of them aren't even reported because they are not haz. Not sure if such additives are helping or hurting the process. And, of course, the quality of your wash- and rinse water is of essence - if you use just soft water, it will be still loaded with all kinds of dissolved (and possiblity suspended) solids, which may or many not precipitate inside the grooves.

Absolutely my best sounding colored/splatter vinyl I have, the sonic's are excellent, the instrument details are killer, so much air around all the players. These were mixed for vinyl and it shows/sounds it....

What are the thoughts on Anti-Stat sprays ?? I occasionally used Anti-Stat on some murky looking vinyl and find that a lot of build-up within the grooves plays out and comes to the surface upon spinning. I'm not convinced that it's kosher, though. The end result is a 'better than it was before' kinda thing, but the ingrained dust which loosens and rises to the LP surface also collects on the stylus. Oh, it's a labour of love to clean vinyl......

Yep, this is a mind-boggling conundrum: apply your antistatic concoction and watch some of it lodge in the grooves. Forego the antistatic and enjoy some cozy click n' crackle :)

I went to the local record store today and saw some KC LP's there, so I won't need to order them after all. They had Poseidon, Islands and Red: I have none of these and I could only take one but Red seemed prioritary after all that talk about it
About the sound, it barely has any surface noise like José said, which makes 'Providence' a wonderful experience, and also no volume issues. The quality is amazing and all those low volume tracks are easily perceived.... and 'Starless' gave me goosebumps Long story short, it's a glorious release of a glorious album |

^ you are tempting me to buy this new reissue. I have a 40-year-old one, in very good shape, but the way you two are describing these .. I will never save any money for a new car!
