I haven't seen that episode yet, but the "More popular but not as good?" line sounds a crack-up, and it's everything I love about the show! A slight cheeky little dig without being too mean!

I remember the line when Bart showed a natural talent for drumming and joined a jazz band, and when he had an injury, he delivered ""I was a great drummer, and now I'm nothing! Just like Phil Collins..."

The episode was pretty funny, because Bart showed more talent to impress some jazz big-wigs than Lisa did (much to her annoyance!)!

Bart: "Lisa, I need you to teach me all about the world of Juzz."
Lisa: "It's JAZZ!"

Dreamer by Supertramp was referenced in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (yes, that film...)

There's a South Park episode in a similar vein where Timmy becomes the lead singer for "Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld."  Then Phil Collins comes along and convinces him that the band is holding Timmy back.  I laughed so hard.

Another Genesis reference on primetime TV this season: on the Supernatural episode “There’s No Place Like Home”, Sam and Dean’s FBI-agent aliases are “Gabriel” and “Collins.”

Not exactly prog, but I remember in the last episode of the classic Brit series The Prisoner The Beatles' All You Need Is Love playing in the background as the lead character is on the run in one segment. Then there was the episode of another Brit import called U.F.O. where some party goers are seen dancing to the Fabs' Get Back.

Yes' Heart of the Sunrise as a soundtrack of already classic scene in Buffalo'66 the movie (1998), ought to be mentioned again...

I just saw this season's final episode of Person of Interest and was surprised to hear 'Welcome to the Machine'. They couldn't have picked a more appropriate track
