Rare Goat hasn't played together in a while, actually, and we're having our first full rehearsal in about 2 months tonight. Circumstances in our respective lives and the lack of gigs has made us put the band aside for a while. Still not sure what our next move is. I'm not particularly inspired to come up with new songs, and I'm not particularly excited to play new tunes by Jack or Bob. Maybe I'll get the bug again soon, but I've just been kind of depressed lately.

God no, not Nirvana.
Coincidentally though, last night we were trying out a couple of new live arrangements for one of our existing songs from the album, and one of them had a quiet verse/loud chorus kind of structure that one of the guys jokingly compared to Nirvana.

I didn't. I considered it, but it seemed silly given that I already had all of those albums on CD, and a couple on original and then remastered versions.

Yeah I feel the same way. Maybe I'll at least get the early set. I heard a lot of the "murk" of the early albums was alleviated and things sound a lot crisper.

Or audiophiles. As a completionist I'd eventually like to get them all, but it does get a bit ridiculous with all of the re-released versions that come out. My limit is kind of reached with one version of all albums. Not a fan of having multiple versions. I have a few of Yes' new releases, but at least those have bonus tracks of previously unreleased material, some of which is pretty good. It seems as though Rush has nothing that was incomplete that they feel is worthy of adding on to a box set or as a bonus re-release.

I'm not a Rush completist. In fact, it just occurred to me how strange it must seem that I don't own a physical copy of either Hemispheres or 2112 (among other Rush albums). Strange because I've been a pretty strong fan of the group since high school.
