It;s a decent song and sounds like something that could have been on the Who Are You sessions....but I can't say it
is anything special.

As someone above said.....a retirement package album.

This song have nothing to do with that full of synth Who Are You the album, nor with that Who Are You flash-rock (or "Disco"-like) the style of production.

Synth or not it sounds like the same period to me.   A mediocre one at any rate.
Well, I like Who Are You but imo this track sounds much more like Face Dances period.
Anyway, a mediocre song or not, this song is a "classic" The Who song without a doubt.

Well....of course it's a Who song...they wrote it.
A 'classic'..? I think not.
Yes of course it's "classic" and it's something between By Numbers and Face Dances.

The Who only have 11 studio albums which surprises me a little since they have been around so long....since 1965.
After 'It's Hard' they didn't make another album for 24 years.
For me the last good one was 'Who Are You' in 1978.

First of all by definition it won't be a 'classic' until some years have passed but even then it's not up to that level of quality imo. , but then some people are easy on rating things.

They sound great....the song isn't "classic" Who, meaning without JE and KM there is no "classic" Who sound.  Still, it's solid Who, just like parts of Face Dances, It's Hard and a lot of Endless Wire.

Just last night the Who in London doing Quad was on TV and the wife commented that if these guys weren't famous, they'd be all over youtube as those pathetic geriatrics trying to imitate a rock band.....sadly, I had to agree.....but also disagree.  Pete could be rolled out to drool at the microphone stand and I'd dig it.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
