It's a bit corny (Grantchester Meadows in Heaven is not exactly subtle), but I like it.

Is it just me, or does the man on the cover resemble Rick? It just seems too me that it's a not so subtle nod to him... in heaven... on a boat (another reason to think it's a nod to him, I understand he really loved boats).

He seems the same guy of Momentary Leapse of reason. The Endless RIver comes from High Hopes which was inspired to Syd Barrett. I don't think it's Rick. Surely not only Rick.

I can't believe they are doing this.  Shame on them.  It would have been better to re work some of Sid's stuff.. or at least include it in a new offering.

Where is Roger?  Another bland offering from the band without Roger?

This is a Rick Wright Solo Album at best.  It might be a good one I hope.  This reminds me of Wes Montgomery Eulogy album.

They don't need the money.  Gilmour's last Island album was a fair enough solo effort.  But if a band like Pink Floyd is going to offer up a final album.. why not it be a great one with all the living members?

If you don't like it don't buy it.

Now can we continue this in the older thread: www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=98838 ?

I guess this would be as good as place as any to post this, I'd like to ask any fans reading this that they don't add the album in the archives cause there's no point in it yet, let's try and wait at least until November for it.

I think somebody has already done it as soon as the official track list appeared

.......yeah, I've never heard a note if it but I'll rate it as a 1 star..........
...................
Yeah bullsh*t...............................
...........................I resent those that listen to an album 2 or 3 times and pull judgement....
I started out with the new Yes album with a headstrong criticism that they've 'lost it' and this new album is a waste of time .......
I was wrong !!! At least 30 times and the album is such a likeable and enjoyable stretch of listening time that it deserves at least a 3.5 rating.
Anyway, I have High Hopes for this new Floyd extravaganzae..............

I'd think the cover art would be obvious.........the album IS a tribute and farewell to Rick Wright, so the cover art makes complete sense in that light.

I love the idea of an almost totally instrumental Floyd album and I don't think Gilmour and Mason would put out anything substandard (though, of course, many will feel that they already did do that in the 80's and 90's).  I'm looking forward to hearing it.

I know it's not Rick... but it seems to me that they wanted to hint at him.

Exactly because they don't need the money is what makes me hope they are really intending to release a good album... or at least to play something that they really care about, which in the end is the best way to make great music.

3 seconds and I already like it, even if it seems just a follow up to the division bell

Amidst all the negativity, some are claiming this could be the best Floyd album since Animals... maybe the whoozy thought of a Floyd album consisting of 4 side-long suites has that effect on some people. I think there's reason to be excited. Here's the Uncut article: http://www.pinkfloydz.com/uncutnov14A.pdf
