No Kudos to the Ravens for doing what should have been done earlier.

Bullsh*t to that. The Ravens only saw the tape that showed what happened outside the elevator. It was the NFL who imposed a 2 game suspension, not the Ravens.
It pisses me off because our organization is getting praised for their actions, but some people still aren't giving the Ravens the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, spin it how you want, the Ravens knew he had knocked her unconscious. They thought they had dodged a bullet w/ Rice's 2 game suspension. The court of public opinion spoke today and law enforcement, the NFL and the Ravens are all looking bad. Praise, not likely.

Well this game began pretty much began as I expected....sucking ass haha but I am optimistic about how the pocket has held up. O line was my biggest question and was scares against that Lions d line, but so far they have held up well. Aaaaaaand a nice long sustained drive ending in a TD. I'll take it! LOL every not offensive failure for NY is a win

Nothing ever comes out in full when it supposedly happened...how long did it take Clinton to finally admit he did have sexual relations with that woman!! LOL
I am not surprised it took this long, bottom line is the right thing was done.
Now do I believe that Rice's defense team, NFL or Ravens had not seen the whole video...no I do not believe it. It was a security video from the hotel that is probably reviewed within a month if not sooner so I suspect the police had it.
The bad thing for all is that TMZ posted it, so it was obtainable. It would not surprise me at all if the NFL and law enforcement had not shown the whole video to the Ravens.
I am just glad he is gone.......

Man...for a while the defense actually held up well...even in the end zone and against Megatron. Imagine I they didn't basically gift Detroit those 14 points lol And I'm serious, I expected this game to be an utter disaster and it really hasn't been, after last year's disgrace I take this as a positive even as we're losing by 20 lol I'm glad to see the o line hold up fairly well. And the 2 Eli picks haven't been anything shameful. In fact he's hit alot on the hands and made some nice zippy passes into tight coverage. Dude after 0-6 and barely beating the Vikings I'm excited! Haha

You know expectations were low when your team loses by 21 and you don't feel that bad I'm dead serious, unfortunately. Hey, it's a rebuilding year... I mainly want to see some positive signs and improvement.
So I'll try to not sh*t all over them for once and take the positives away from it. Oh, and be glad we play Ryan Fitzpatrick next week

Agreed. I guess we can never know but I am sorry...TMZ gave this footage, Baltimore and the NFL didn't know the whole story??? I do call bullsh*t on that, and really the whole thing is just sad. NOW this penalty comes down? Because even though we knew he hit her, we've seen it so now it's really bad? Because ya know, we saw it so the same action is now worse apparently. Even if they didn't know the whole story, this whole situation has been FUBAR'd big time.
Loved Ray Rice, great player and was a NJ hero but what can ya say? He brought this on himself.
San Diego has blown another solid lead in prime time! I love that Arizona defense, with so many teams playing passive defense now I love this aggressive stuff. That was 4 bring the house blitzes there at the end, the secondary can really cover and hit. Love it. Also, I've always been a bigger believer in Carson Palmer than many, because ya know...a lot of INT's doesn't make you a sh*t player.... but that was a great game. Arizona could be scary with that epic defense, Palmer back to form and lots of weapons.
Though gotta put some major blame on San Diego there, at two critical moments Rivers screws up a snap, and a delay of game?

ARI pulled it out...I only care because of a work pool pick and I was only 3 points off the total score as a tie breaker....hi-5 myself LOL!
Goodell should step down, the whole situation stinks from the NFL perspective and how he handled it. I don't know what laws exist where a video cannot be obtained by lawyers from both sides...but if TMZ got the video then apparently there are no such laws.

News coming out now that the NFL never asked the casino if they could view the tape. The police and Rice's lawyers requested it,but not the NFL.I am hoping this whole messy situation results in Goodell stepping down because he REALLY screwed this up.

Promise I am done, I really do care more about football then the personal lives of these people, but just since we love to trash the NFL (this is not Balimore, but NFL so please start breathing Jody )
As if there was any doubt to this: A law enforcement official tells AP they had sent a copy of the Ray Rice videotape to an NFL executive in April...
Like I said, it's all been FUBAR'd, maybe this is the straw that breaks the Goodell back, though I know this is wishful thinking Really, how are we to believe the mighty NFL did not have access to a video TMZ (granted those bugging lil a****les that they are) got their hands on? Sad all around, especially that it happened to Rice.
Also I was wrong, Arizona is up next, not Houston sooooo we'll be 0-2 after all We all know this is dangerous to do given injuries and general craziness of the NFL but looking at the schedule, I really do forsee 6-8 wins. I'll grant a classic Giant upset win or two, but probably some of their classic WTF was that!? games, so should balance out. A lot depends on how the offense starts to gel and if our great on paper D translates to reality, I think it may. Thank god the NFC east sucks!

Scott, I have your Lions as favourites for the NFC North, this is the year they will do it. They have an explosive offense and a smothering defense. I still can't forget that blowout of my Packers last season (for all the wrong reasons ). After that they capitulated as they have been know to in the past, but with the new coach I have a feeling the Lions will go on this season. The Packers are so poor against the run. I am sure they will improve (fortunately they don't have to play Seattle every week ) but unless Rodgers is beyond stellar this season I am a little worried.
The game in Detroit next weekend will be vital, I expect the Lions to be 2-0 and the Packers 1-1 before that so it is a crunch game even this early in the season. I will be watching that with fingers crossed but in all honesty fearing the worst. Good news is I will be able to watch it on your side of the pond whilst on holiday, always makes the game even better.

Smothering Defense? I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. Who plays behind their front 7?

When I said smothering I meant at the line. Sure if you can give your QB good protection then you are in with a shout against their cornerbacks and safeties but they are just all over the opposition at the line and I think that will prove more difficult than it sounds.
