SONIC YOUTH - "Daydream Nation" (1988)
disc 2 of deluxe edition, featuring a pre-release live performance of the album in different running order.

^Damn, I haven't spun that one in ages! Makes me wish my cd player would pull itself together and decide not be broken anymore.
So I'm restricted to my iPod and turntable and right now I'm faaaaar to lazy to be turning vinyls:-P
Material - Hallucination Engine
One of the most original (and best) albums of the 90s.

I've been re-reading a "33 1/3" book about Daydream Nation.  One thing I hadn't really noticed before reading it is how good the lyrics are. Makes the songs twice as heavy as they already are.

You see, I can't even remember the lyrics anymore - and I used to spin the sh*t out of it back in high school. Oh yes, the years of Pearl Jam's Ten, Metallica - Ride the Lightning, Iron Maiden - Live After Death (their best release imo), Neil Young - Weld, Alice In Chains - MTV Unplugged, Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals, Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu Tang (36 Chambers), Busta Rhymes - When Disaster Strikes, Düreforsøg - Knee (an avantguarde release from Denmark you definitely need to check out. Part of my teen years. Sounds like Naked City doing a weird metal take on Tom & Jerry), countless of Grease medleys at gymnasium parties, 'I'm blue dabadidabadah' *throws up tiny amount of morning coffee that's been resting comfortably in stomach for the last 8 hours*.
Those were the days. Just like these are the days....only different. Days eh?

What were we talking about?
