It's extremely foggy for a summer's morning here. Humidity regardless of what the sky is doing is the norm here in New England.

We had a rare "Red Flag Warning" (extreme fire danger) here in the soggy Puget Sound vicinity. Several days of hot, dry weather followed by the threat of dry thunderstorms. We live in a heavily forested and shrubby area. Intense lightning Monday night close to the shore. It has fortunately been raining for about 12 hours sans lightning. Relief.

How funny, I'm in Auburn Washington, just moved here permanently, but I've visited plenty of times and was hoping for the typical cool partly cloudy summer, I hope it stays rainy and cool for awhile now...

After a pleasant summer, the autumn of 2014 is making progress now here in the Netherlands. Just 15°C (59°F) where 21-22 (70-71) is normal. Not much better to be expected for the next 9 or 10 days.

The autumn startet on the 11th of August this year, but September has been very frindly so far. Lots of sun, no rain at all (maybe the first drops will fall tonight) and maximum temperatures above 20°C (68°F) on most days; yesterday and today the maxima are above 25°C (77°F): Indian summer!

July temperatures in sunny Dutchistan today: 23°C (73.4°F). A 93-year old daily max temperature record has just been broken.
