Anyway - as I was entering the CD details into my catalogue on my PC, I realised that the Producer is Terry Brown (Ring a Bell???)and apparently the track name is an anagram of "New Rush" - you learn something new (and in this case reasonably trivial) every day!!!

Really? Very very interesting. Thanks man.

I'm absolutely loving "The Road of Bones".  The first disc is pretty good but to me, the second disc is far and away the winner here.  I absolutely love ever song on disc 2.

This has been my experience with the album as well.  The second CD is more varied (as much as IQ gets, anyway), the "main" CD is more homogeneous, which I guess was why they didn't just make it a 2 CD album (rather than a one CD album with a "bonus" CD).

Either way, the whole thing is quite good.

Outer Limits is probably the best neo-prog song EVER.

Great and very versatile band!

Have a snippet of a young Paul Anthony interviewing the band on Signal Radio approx 1985 that I can upload once I've found the tape. (Unsure if it contravenes site policy so will check first).

You are far from being alone here, my my fellow progger. I cannot get enough of it.
It's so beautifully crafted with exceptional track flow. I love the whole damn thing, but KNUCKLEHEAD is my favourite although disc 1 as a whole I like a bit more.

Do you think the intro to 10,000,000 demons reminds you of Depeche mode? Does for me. ;)
Pretty neat.

I love that song, my first thought was Dr. Who but I can hear the Depeche Mode, a'la "Clean" in it.  It's my favorite song on the whole album, Neil Durant sounds so good on that song.

I too have been liking disc 2 more than disc 1 - but the epic is growing on me bit by bit......I love the return of the theme on the synth...EPIC.....but the fade out just as the guitar solo gets interesting...that's JUST NOT PROG !

The IQ gig at Bury is sold out now Rob. See you there.

Let's hope they play Constellations, my favourite track off TROB by a mile. It's a good album but a combo of tracks from the 2 discs would make a better album.

Yeah, Constellations is my favorite right now as well, but I still need to give both disks a few more plays to really absorb it all.  In any case, I like the whole thing quite a bit.

Yeah. I'm a HEADLONG guy or WIDOWS PEAK fan. Those 2 songs are right up their with some of their best work.
Love Esau's bass on both those tracks. It has a pulse. :)

Yeah!! That exactly how I felt. The intro and middle section of CLEAN (original mix) off violator.
You are spot on with my feelings in this. Cool.

Widows Peak -  a 'must have' for any IQ fan is the BBC session version that is on The Lost Attic

I love Esau's fretless bass on The Magic Roundabout although I'm with you on Headlong as well.

I find myself agreeing with you more and more Richard. I reciprocate your feelings on this.
In general, it's really important for any IQ fan to deeply explore and relish listening to THE WAKE.
I know there must be a very few amount of people who would disagree with me on this.
It's one of their flagships. :)

I actually did not become a fan until Dark Matter and then Frequency which now are my two favorite albums by them. I was familiar with the early ones through friends but always thought they sounded a bit too much like Genesis even though they were good.
I have listened to Bones on you tube and while I think it's a good album I still think the previous two are 'catchier' if that's the right word. Maybe more melodic is a better term. There are quite a few places on the new one that seems like they are redoing the two previous ones but with less melody and more 'darkness'.
I'll end up getting it in time but right now Matter and Frequency are the ones that do it for me.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.
