I wonder if he has actually listened to all those albums, and if he ever learned the meaning of the word "recommendation" Confused
I would like to see his face if he will ever ask his previous employer to write a "recommendation letter" for him and the employer would just hand him a piece of paper with his picture on it LOL

I hope that a new "discovering period" will come to you again soon LOL
Good for you to be discovering music at such a rate, it's true that I'm not in a discovering period right now, but besides that it's just that I think that good Prog needs to be digested slowly, allowing each album many listens to let it reveal its details and nuances. At the rate you post it gives the impression that you jump from album to album after a first listen (I am just guessing and I may be wrong of course). I prefer to know less music but know it well than to know many but superficially.

We probably don't know that Svetiono has a contract with bandcamp to do promotion of their music here and has a commission each time a bandcamp page has been visited...Wink

I don't have any contract nor nothing like that with Bandcamp.
I recommend the bands ONLY because I love to share the music I listen to.

How many of these do you listen to more than once?
How many of these do you listen to every track from?
How many of these do you actually like?
Is there a band or artist on Bandcamp that is tagged as "Progressive" or "Psychedelic" that you won't recommend?

We are now on page 103 of this thread. At 20 posts per page that's something approaching 2000 recommendations in total, over 90% of them from you. No one can seriously recommend >1800 bands, that is an impossible nonsense. It makes a complete mockery of any recommendation. This thread is now no better than browsing the "Progressive" tag on the Bandcamp website. What is the point? Seriously.

I do not doubt that all the artists you list are in dire need of the exposure, and most of them are extremely grateful for any mention away from the rarefied atmosphere of the Bandcamp website, but frankly, this is a piss-poor way of doing it.

Perhaps you should try recommending the bands you really like rather than all the ones you listen to, because doing it ONLY because you like to share is unhelpful to the artists and the few that read this thread. You know - give some genuine recommendations for a change.

Am I the only one that appreciates being flooded with so many bands? And why are you blaming on the number of bands recommended every day, there is a description of the genre, if you don't like it you are not forced to listen to, you pick just what fits your tastes. I mean, life would be poor if I had to listen to the same albums over and over...

To be honest, I really don't care about this. I am happy to be given the opportunity to discover new bands, and it's all that matters to me :-)

Here's one that got sneaked onto the site (in Crossover) via a post in the collab zone rather than here or in Suggest New Bands and Artists. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=8964.

Only 5 tracks and around 28 and a half minutes of music, but good stuff - and the band is to be featured on Andy Read's DPRP Prog Rock Radio Show when it returns from its summer break next week: http://www.dprp.net/wp/radio/.

Click this link: "Progressive"  and fill your boots.

Recommendation is the act of recommending; Recommending is present participle of Recommend; Recommend is a verb that means to praise, commend, represent favourably, endorse and propose. It implies a level of selection and judgement has been employed. If someone asked me to recommend a Tangerine Dream album to them it would be lazy of me to list every single album they produced and say "pick what fits your tastes".

Peace. Out.
