Owls hooting (found on Trace's "Birds Suite" and my own disc on the title track)  

Fly buzzing (Title track of "Lamb Lies Down on Broadway")

Freight Train (on Weather Report's "Gibraltar")

Lonely Church Bells (on Vangelis' "Heaven and Hell")

Breaking glass (Gentle Giant - intro to "Runaway" and National Health's "Collapso")

I like the helicopter on The Wall, the spinning coin on Gentle Giant's Octopus, and the elevator and crowd noises on Wish You Were Here.  Also, though he may not be prog, I like the many, many times Roy Harper bursts into uncontrollable laughter on his albums.

The best sound effect of all time appears on Roger Waters' "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking".  At the end of the song "Sexual Revolution" comes the line "So she picked up the doggie in the window/the one with the waggly tail/ And she put it to bed/ Between two bits of bread".  Just then comes the sound of someone taking a bite of an incredibly crusty sandwich.

Not exactly prog, but the British doom band Cathedral used the sound of a flushing toilet at the end of their epic 'Voyage Of The Homeless Sapien'. Very cool!

I like the bubbling water and bird noises in Jail- House Frog by Amon Duul II

Also laughter at the begining of Even Less by Porcupine Tree

On the track Restless Sky by Amon Duul II near the end of the track the singer sounds like he is vomiting  

I also love bells on songs like the bell tolling at the begining of Xanadu, In fact Progressive metal bands love the bells! But I can't think of other examples right now..

Has anybody here heard the original track "Return to Forever" done by Chick Corea in the early 70s? Flora Purim lets one of the most nauseating screams out that I've ever heard in my life half-way through the tune. Its pretty cool.

I really like the nature sounds on Rush's "Natural Science".
