I need to read this one in more detail.....skimmed thru it but never heard of this guy before.
Wonder if he will eventually sell them online!! Man I bet he has some amazing albums in that warehouse. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/10/magazine/the-brazilian-bus-magnate-whos-buying-up-all-the-worlds-vinyl-records.html?smid=fb-share&_r=1 |

I liked the part with the interns organizing his collection, and the database they created. And no matter how many albums he buys, his first album is the most special. It also made me wonder how many music has been recorded since the beginning of music recording |

I think the answer is A LOT!!! In his case I think the first truck load of albums he bought is the most special |

S.W's 5.1 mixes are some of the best. I'd probably be one of 'those' who would spend $100 on a quality mix in this format, especially in a lossy codec like AC3 Dolby surround. Beautiful stuff. |

Speaking of this. I'm not a fan of his music, but I heard that the latest 'JACK WHITE' vinyl pressing is the highest selling vinyl in 20 years! Is this true? ;) |

Quality artful presentation is somewhat lacking in the cd universe, so when Wilson release a cd/DVD package he gives you more visuals, not quite to what vinyl can do but at least he gives you something more to look at. May I say again. The Jethro Tull boxset is just amazing and the liner notes are incredible. 80 page booklet. It is as he said. It's like you own a piece of art on a tangible level. Amazing stuff. He is a godsend. |

I believe the highest selling new release, he sold something like 40,000 vinyl LP in the first week. Not a fan of his music either but I bought one for the gimmick reasons. Side 2 is actually pretty good music.. |

It's on the article: 23 years. I'm not a fan too, but the other I turned on the radio and it was playing his last single and I though it was quite good: the violin solo at the end reminded me of Mahavishnu Orchestra |

Hit a record store yesterday, only had about 30 minutes but found a few goodies!!
Been looking for this one for awhile, tough find at stores, I got lucky!! Man the pleasure of flipping thru the bin and finding this one was like Christmas as a 5yr old Love the BIG inside gatefold picture of the band, you can just sense the structured noodling these guys were doing in the studio! These next two were just icing on the cake. Never had these on vinyl LP and I know they have been reissued, but I wanted to hear how good the quality is on these original issues. |

^ Nice finds there, Sir
SM's 'Third' is pure magic. Just love those mellow sections where Ratledge does his thing. |

^ I agree....it is a good find for sure. The sound quality is pretty good considering its 1970.

^ So is mine. I find that it has a 'fuzzy' sound, often I (think) I hear Wyatt's snare rattling through in quiet sections, and Hopper's fuzzed-bass is overly distorted.
There's a section in Out-Bloody-Rageous where Ratledge has the Wha-Wha going on his organ - it's dreamy and just out of this world. And the freak-out intro to Facelift is over-the-top. Probably my absolute fave SM album, followed ever so closely by Fifth. |

^ The joys of recording in 1970....I love that part of analog recordings, the noises that get picked up in the studio.
Just adds to the pleasure of these LP's Out-Bloody-Rageous is my fav pc by the Softs... |
