Never heard this Dio album....it was cheap.....worth a shot.

Syd Arthur - On and On -- vinyl LP purchased at concert where they opened for Yes.

I can tell it's a very good album but I need to inspect the grooves a little closer. Side A has some horrible scratchy noise on it. hopefully it just needs a better cleaning. It was painful to listen to. Disapprove

Both of these recordings I bought are original CDs released on the Bellaphon label. I've read many negative things about the newer Nektar reissues.

Although I've heard the name Amon Duul II for many years, these albums will be my initial plunge into their sound-world. Anyone else here a fan of this Krautrock band?

I know David (Guldbamsen), Sergei Lenkov, Pedro (moshkito) and I are really into the German progressive music. ADII, Faust, Neu!, TD, Kraftwerk, PV - all are legends.

I really enjoyed all three of those albums, if not in their entirety. I would look no further than those (and don't want to because of what I heard from the other albums).

Oo-ooh! ... That's gonna be tough. I just hope the music of every one of those bands will at least be a yes-and-no experience rather than just a no-experience.

I can't briefly describe their sound (and it depends on what kind of sound you really want), so typically I would recommend skimming through their stuff on YouTube. However, I've grown to realize that you really have to soak every second of their stuff to truly appreciate it, the atmosphere and the changes.

PV: ambient electronica, acoustic ethnic (world), Neoclassical music. The music of peace.

Faust - experimental/noise music with classical, jazz, and rock leanings. Whether you see the music as focused or not, that's up to you (I just think it's really wild and exciting). The music of chaos.

This is really a quest of open-mindedness and understanding, so ... [sigh] ... here we go.

Mandatory PV: "Aguirre (L'acrime di Rei)" (or just get the whole Aguirre album for that one track, though I love nearly all of the album), Hosianna Mantra, In den Garten Pharaos. All have different sounds, different musical identities, so buyer beware.

Mandatory Faust: "Krautrock" or all of Faust IV (though that's just the popular consensus that I don't agree with). After that come Faust (least accessible), So Far (just about as accessible as IV, but not as mandatory), and The Faust Tapes (if you like literal bits of music).
