Ambient & mostly instrumental? Youth involved?

This has more than made my day - this has made my year!

To hear what Gilmour can bring to ambient, check this album out:

I just read that Roger Waters will not be on the album and that the album will mainly consist of ambient and instrumental music. Phil Manzanera is one of the co-producers.

Damn! That stinks. It really, really does, but it's a new Floyd album, so I suppose I should be grateful for whatever they put out since they were such an important band for me.

Have you heard Roger's latest output?

Here it is:

@silverpot: Thanks, I hadn't heard it yet Smile.

Ah, good that you found it. Nice playing from Clappers at the end.

Roger is also working on his solo album so there will be something for all PF fans to look forward to in the next 12 months.

I first heard of this on the poll about what is more exciting, this new PF, the new Yes, or KC concerts. I voted this. I have seen KC before and even though I have only heard to one leaked track from Yes, the reviews are not exactly filling me with the sense of awe and wonder that I generally feel when new Yes is emerging.

It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the Summer.

I also found out through your poll. At first I thought you were referring to The Division Bell box set, but soon found out that it was much more than that. I really hope they don't screw this up.

Portnoy's opinion means no more than any one else's... he's entitled to it however silly it makes him look.

I'm not sure I fully appreciate the art work, but it will probably grow on me.

It's a bit corny (Grantchester Meadows in Heaven is not exactly subtle), but I like it.
