Film critic Nathan Rabin once mused that the early 1970s had all the decadence of the late 1960s but very little of the optimism or faith in progress, which would explain why so much interesting art came out from that handful of years. No wonder this Cantabrigian doom metal group are so nostalgic for that era, then! This album doesn't just sound but also feels like it fell through a time warp from 1971 in all the best ways.
