For many of us here in North America soccer does bewilder us a little bit. Of course it works both ways as our fav sports over here like NFL football, NHL hockey and MLB has aspects and tradions to them that baffle many people in Europe, Asia etc. Like fighting in hockey, the ridiculous scenerio of a manager coming out and yelling in the face of the ump in baseball. There are so called "codes" and unwritten rules among the athletes. So you either accept these or you just don't watch and stop being a fan.

I have come to respect the game of soocer even if I don't agree with all the dramatic acting everytime someone gets touched. It's all about the tradition no? Still for us in Canada watching guys acting like they have been shot and then a minute later they are flying up the sideline, it ruins the integrity of the game. But no it doesn't because it is accepted by fans and players alike so...Same with penalty kicks to decide who moves on. I don't agree with that but I am also a traditionalist who feels you don't change rules unless it's absolutely necessary. Plus in the heat in Brazil it would be dangerous for these guys to play until someone wins, heck the fans could get heat-stroke sitting in the stands for many hours.

So it is what it is and i'm really enjoying this World Cup.
