Shaving nerd that I am, I'm starting to be tempted to try a straight razor...

...just though you ought to know in case of an accident

You may have to change your name to C.M.O.T. Dibbler...

Day off work today, decide to have a lie in. Neighbour chooses this day to have a massive lorry load of roofing materials delivered at 07:30 in the morning, which involves the afore-mentioned massive lorry doing a slow three point turn outside our bedroom window and a lot of shouting.
Thanks for that.

Sorry, this is the ranting room, isn't it?

Depends - is this a full rant or just the half-hour?

Five days a week I'm up at 4:45 to head to work....and wishing so much I could roll over and just sleep in.  So its Saturday now and i'm awake at 4, unable to sleep.  It's now 5:50 and getting light outside, the birds even sound amused at my plight.  What to do, what to do...Stern Smile

I have the same problem when I go camping in the summer. It gets light between 4 and 5 and the Censored dawn chorus wakes you up. My only advice is to shoot the birds and wear an eye shade.

We have this contraption called a "sound conditioner" which emits drone noise that sounds like a fan.  It does a pretty good job of masking some noise, though it was no match the cats getting it on outside the window yesterday.

At least the cats should keep the birds away.

Indeed they did.  The Robins took a break from their usual assault on the sleeping.  After surfing the net for a couple hours I thought about going into work...instead I went back in and managed to fall asleep for a few hours.  Grateful for that.

Here's some recent musical discoveries of mine

Camelias Garden - http://cameliasgarden.com/

Nothing revolutionary but if you like a spot of melodic prog then check these bands out.

A January/December friendship started over tomatoes, this local story.....I had my own experience with an old neighbor guy that was like this.  Wonderful stuff that I'll never forget.
