What a nice idea.  I love her compositions.  If they decide to release the recordings of these shows, I would buy it.

That's such a great thing though for them to do. I would love to hear/ see recordings too if they release something from it.
Sooooo wish I could go! Sadly I'll likely never be able to see these artists perform here in the US Cry

The fact that we'll never see this in America is one of the many reasons that America is a cultural backwater of tasteless tripe.

We have to settle with our Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

But hey, at least it gives us something to happily complain about.

Beiber is Canadian. I know the US is to blame for a lot, but don't try to pin that one on us. BTW, that reminds me when are we going to bomb Canada for sending Beiber here? That's a terrorist attack in my book.

Wow.
What a brilliant idea - and beautiful gesture. Lindsay is missed.

Come November I genuinely hope I'll be able to swing by London. It's been ages anyway, and I love the city. I imagine it being slightly different from last time, but then again huge cities like that are always changing (which is why they're so interesting to me).
Maybe if I row to England it'll be cheaper...

I have tickets for the Huddersfield gig.  Personally, I can't wait for this.  I was lucky enough to see the Cow twice in 1977 and I never thought I would see them play together again.  Unlike almost another rock band, the concept is a good one - to pay tribute to the late Lindsay Cooper, so its not just a reunion for the sake of it.  News from Babel will perform live for the first time as well!  By 1977, John Greaves had left so I have not seen him with the Cow (although I did see him a year later with National Health, supporting Steve Hillage - a great night).  Dagmar performed in the February but when I saw them again in the October, she had retired from touring due to ill health.  Those two gigs are amongst my most treasured musical memories - I particularly remember them starting the second half of the first gig with 'Beautiful as the moon...' and believe it or not, the place was rocking!

The Huddersfield (UK) gig is now sold out but a date has been added in Forli, Italy on the 23rd November - go to: w.areasismica.it

Some tickets left for the London show.  Would go to all three if I could!!

Well, maybe London isn't very far from Paris, but I would still have to buy a ticket to London, rent a room, etc... I will have to "forget" this concert. Unhappy

Although it is enough to see Henry Cow again (which I never thought would happen), I am wondering about the set list.  As it is a tribute to Lindsay Cooper, then I am sure we will get treated to the Day by Day suite off Western Culture.  It is just possible other Cow tunes will be played as well that featured Lindsay, so my money is on 'Ruins'...
News From Babel performing live for the first time is a big deal, so I am also wondering if Robert Wyatt is likely to make a special guest appearance at some stage.
Excited?  Yes, just the same as I was when I saw the Cow for the first time at the age of 14!

Indeed, if you read Chris Cutler's interview, it implies that 25% of the concert will be Henry Cow, 25% Oh Moscow, etc.

I doubt it, the Cow have always been anti-commercial in this respect.  Even if they did, I suspect the market would be tiny.  I will report back to the forum if I see any professional looking cameras there!  In the meantime, enjoy the latest interview with Chris Cutler on the Lindsay Cooper concerts/RIO etc with the BBC's Stuart Maconie while it is still available (broadcast last Sunday)
