Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven; this was after just watching The Song Remains the Same on DVD. apparently, they let the song continue when the credits stopped rolling and the Warner Bros. signal thing (distributed by thing, ya know, like on TV) with a black screen still there; the original film had the song stop when that happened, at least on TV broadcasts on VH1 Classic and Palladia. i thought that was interesting, so yeah ill shut up now lol.

The album that introduced me to Voivod, and probably still my favorite from them.

Still haven't heard it, supposedly it launched the whole "metalheads listening to 1980s indie rock" phenomenon long before anyone had thought of goth doom or blackgaze.

NP:

One of many proto-metallic 1970s hard rock groups that don't get the dues they deserve. (see also Captain Beyond, Flower Travellin' Band, Sir Lord Baltimore et cetera)

Budgie almost approaching if not quite Black Sabbath then Sir Lord Baltimore levels of heaviness while keeping their trademark quirk and scruffiness. Early-seventies as all Hell and in the best way possible.
