Hey responses!!!!!! Good to know you are there

My favourite Wishbone Ash is their eponymous first, which ain't prog, its straight early rock even Phoenix (in which you'll hear a few bar s of the Keelrow (sp) - which even Status Quo used) . While they subsequently dabbled with prog - agreed particularly well with Argus - I stick to my guns re being more the softer end of rock (saw one amateur pundit suggest heavy rock on par with Deep Purple very recent ly- nope!!!!!!!).

WRT connections, thanks for the feedback. Strongly suggest you link through IPod radio/Colleges & University/Loughborough Campus Radio
OR
go to Loughborough Campus radio direct (via Loughborough Student Union). I have a problem keeping up with local changes AND PROGARCHIVES webmaster set that address tag up - which is more characters than normally permitted, and any attempted change of link address has brought up that restriction, so can't be done. Hence  check out all options. If you have problems at the time of broadcast let me know there and then via the yahoo link. If you would like a podcast  of the show e.mail me at the yahoo link and I'll add you to the list - that link is only available for 6 days.

In the meanwhile next week's show:

Scott McGill is my artist of this summer term hence a couple of examples here. Demand for IQ's newie remains high. GoGo Penguin continues to hit the right nerves.  Cuneiform have been generous with recent releases, including a current favourite Joel Harrison (a talented guitarist who is owing to nobody obvious, wrt style), Richard Pinhas (an excerpt because most tunes are alas far too long for radio play - but maybe fuller version may follow), and Microscopic Septet. DeeExpus Project: remember the term 'neo-prog' was a sarcastic coinage, implying a band who's music took after  an earlier band, well perhaps here we have neo-neo-prog???? Chas Jankel, Ian Dury's collaborator in a previous existence, with proggy Byzantium. Enjoy.

surprisingly, there are lot of jazz artists around the world, they still play and even release albums - what has no commercial sense at all

yep, I expect many musicians nowadays need to have another job just to pay their bills, recording industry is near dead, golden 60s or 70s are just history

you have to wonder at the likes of Pat Metheny, who seems to be more successful than most, whether the e is day job or a bit kowtowing to record label. Then the likes of EST disappearing there are many many similar line-ups with similar styles waiting to fill the vacancy - but not necessary with the success and sales
