Have you seen the guy who shows all his Porcupine Tree vinyl? Guy who does a very good job showing all of it....I think his youtube name is something like Derek...search for him. Great collection of vinyl he has.

I'll look him up! Right now my favorite has been D Verada, who does some very nice videos of his record store finds, has good taste and a nice voice. I've also been watching the Amoeba channel, a chain that I am definitely going to go to if and when I go to southern Cali, and they have a bunch of random artists show what they buy from there and talk about it, and The Needle Drop, which is more of an album review show, but he also shows off his vinyl somewhat regularly.

Alright!
Here's one of D Verada's most recent ones Here's an episode of Amoeba's What's In My Bag, featuring Michael Ivins of the Flaming Lips, one of my favorite bands And, finally, here's The Needle Drop's most recent video showing off some new vinyl acquisitions |

^ Yea...I hear ya. But he does a good job of showing his PT stuff. I still have a few to go before my PT vinyl collection is complete.

Your LPs can only be as good as the rig you play it on! Yes. Show off. :)

Just got it. Needs some hours of wear in and a tweak or two, but loving it so far. Has a very lively "Let's f**kin' party!" type presentation w/o being too bright.

Sweet! I added the AT-OC9ML/II a month ago and am in MC heaven at the moment.....Insane amount of detail with the ML stylus. I am not sure I could go back to an elliptical again, I am hearing things I don't even notice on my CD versions.
The OC9ML/II has really made some of my older vinyl sound like new again, I know weird. The decay on all drums and cymbal hits is crazy and a piano key hit goes on forever. Its all good.....

Great video. Your family has good taste in music. I have the vinyls from my grandfather and my father and I don't like any of them.
If you want to know, Segovia is pronounced like this: https://translate.google.com/#es/en/segovia The only record I have from these is ELP's Trilogy although mine is not gatefold and the cover is in better condition than the vinyl. |

Being the massively privileged and spoiled kid I am, I got even more records since I recorded yesterday's episode, and decided to make two this week. Because people have time for this kind of sh*t

Lucky b*****d. If I'm ever in California I'm going to one of them, preferably the Hollywood one.

^ Well I am actually more interested in going to some of the smaller independent record stores....Amoeba is huge and deal mainly in CDs, DVDs and new vinyl, a lot of used vinyl too...They are the Tower Records of this age.
My time there will be packed so I hope to squeeze out a few hours... |

I've been to the Amoeba in San Francisco and Hollywood, (though when I went to the Hollywood location, it was before I actually went to any record stores close to my home—so I picked out quite a few common records). Well, the latest trip to San Francisco, I was in heaven. When you first enter, it's overwhelming. You could spend a DAY in there. So, I skimmed through quite a bit, never took a thorough search. What I found made me more than cheerful: Porcupine Tree-On The Sunday of Life digipack (for $6) The Sky Moves Sideways digipack (for $8) Coma Divine Live digipack (for $6) and Stupid Dream digipack (for $8) Octopus—Gentle Giant lp for $6 Wise After The Event—Anthony Phillips for $4 I saw they had everything from Gong vinyls (which are hard to find!), Ozric Tentacles, Goblin (HARD to find!) but they were all out of my price range ($15 and up) so I decided against them. There was so much more, but I had most of the cheaper records (Tarkus, Tubular Bells, all of Yes, Genesis, etc.) So, plan ahead!! Check what time they open, go, and if you have a wife, make sure she's mentally prepared to wait around for hours while you search through piles of records like a kid in a candy shop. All of the guys working there seemed extra-friendly too, which is RARE to find. At least in Portland.
