I may have done, although I probably missed out a few important types of tea.

Well according to Chopper, then the best thing out there is Damon Albarn:-P I had no idea he was making music outside of Blur tbh. |
Nah, Damon Albarn doesn't beat Yes (although his solo album is good), there's only one band that does - their name begins with a B.
And it's not Blur. |

Damn, I've been sussed.

fell in love with Yes in the mid 70s
specifically The Yes Album and Fragile
looking back, it must have been the superb
personality and musicianship of the members
and their fusion together
in a glorious rock n roll type of symphony
after that initial infatuation, I was completely ready
to soak up the stretched out stylings of CTTE and TFTO
really dig that band

Right so we are all agreed: the OP does not like Yes and none of us have been swayed by his/her incontrovertible arguments to that effect. How about a tie breaker to surmount this impasse? Post a piccy of yer cock Rihanna and we'll all agree to differ.

Well, his argument is actually incontrovertible. He doesn't like Yes. That's the argument. And there's nothing we can do to prove that wrong.

Proving Yes are worthy of regard is clearly futile but persuading the OP that he/she is immune to the appeal of Yes is an entirely different matter. There is no evidence as to what music the OP bases his/her judgement on in such an appraisal

I'd like to know what bands you listen to. Let me guess: Pink Floyd and Genesis?

1) Cheesy? Where? (If you mean dated or stuff that's not for the mainstream, then you may be onto something here.) 2) Well that's just something I'm gonna have to swallow.

considering that there is a distinct possibility that the OP is caught in that awkward age gap between spending their pocket-money on another pack of Amazing Spiderman Panini stickers or their first Bic disposable, I'm not so sure that requests for photographs of their pet rooster is such a good idea.

The best thing we can do is call it boring. Because it is a thoroughly boring argument.

Yes in Close To The Edge: a tight album, if you're in energetic mood and fond of windy hikes it may be a great companion. The first part lead by guitar solo, my fav. from Steve howe ever, feels like acrobats jumping, swinging, and turning around, or downhill athletes; Roger Dean's Fragile and CTTE covers fit the music quite well with slightly darkened vivid colours. The "cheesy" moments are when you relax and dream at the end of your intense, wild journey...
90125 is like friends yelling at you for a next go in an amusement park device, in the midst of the crowd where there's a display of competition, chills, a sense of dangerosity. A very special, very balanced album with great variety of tones.

We need a poll Yes vs Rihanna (the pop star). See if Rihanna gets at least a vote in PA.

HAHAH... Congratulations to you Rhianna! Just couldn't believe this thread was supposed to be serious!...
Oh YES !... me too... I don't like them... And I don't like Classical Music... I don't like symph prog... And I don't like rock and pop too... but man (or woman?) would you please explain me why on earth I don't live without listening to all these "cheesy craps" every single day??
What else I don't like ?? btw I've just been giving a looooong and huuuuge watching to a new youtube video in a new Triumvirat thread - just unbelievable how "hating" songs like that never stop whistling in our heads, isn't it? And a while before I refreshed up my old time memories listening to Chopin's grand Polonaises - how on earth can these "decrepit old craps" look like being from another plainly WONDERFUL world ??? AAhh yeah ! Yesterday I just coudn't sleep without finding out the differences between three versions of Chopin's Nocturne no.2 played by three different pianists - can you explain me how such a damn basic plain simple score gives way to somewhat INFINITE new variations ???? Just think about all of that cheesy crap...
