That's really the best way I can describe St. Vitus guitarist Dave Chandler's soloing style. Like so many other things in this world, it's better than it sounds.

Now:

Listening to Nursery Cryme yet again. I'm actually really impressed with these remixes/remasters. This album definitely needed it as the 'Definitive Edition' didn't do it much favors. Nick Davis gave this remarkable recording the clarity it needed. A friend of mine via YouTube and Facebook named Darren Lock gave this box set superlative marks all-around and I'm completely onboard with his comments on this box set. It's great. I wished I had the second box set, but I only like A Trick of the Tail and Wind & Wuthering from that set, so I bought the new remixed/remastered editions with their 5.1 surround sound counterparts individually.

Cranking a little Armaggedon to unwind after work-Think i'll start with Silver Tightrope(love the solo at the end of this song),then i'll Bask a little In The White Of The Midnight Sun,then follow Paths And Planes And Future Games-finally i'll fly like a Buzzard. Think i'll omit Last Stand......Lots of info here, maybe too much

Indeed, it's a fine album, but I would be a fool to try to choose a favorite Genesis album. BTW, which issue do you own: an original, the 'Definitive Edition' remaster, or the newer 2007 remix/remaster by Nick Davis? Personally, I like these Nick Davis remixes the best of any I heard. There was some clipping in Nursery Cryme on the original and the Definitive Remaster, especially noticeable on Return of the Giant Hogweed and Fountain of Salmacis. Davis has cleared this up incredibly well. Now, I'm finally able to enjoy this album with no anticipation of sonic distortion.
