I vote Hocus Pocus, which was a hit, is quite marvellous too and is possibly the most uncommercial track ever to reach the charts.

You are correct, Aqualung the song was never a single and therefore never a hit. Living in The Past was Tull's biggest hit.

I'm with you with Hocus Pocus.

Probably the 2nd most well-known track out of the list, and a staple of classic rock radio now.  Close enough to the same thing as a hit.

Aqualung above all. Special mention to Moody blues and Yes.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Maybe it sounds terribly commercial, but; Owner Of A Lonely Heart.
Great guitar riff, very powerful song, lots of elements in the song, many productional details...
After many years of listening to the song, I keep turning up the volume when the song comes on the radio.

Jethro Tull Aqualung

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

You are correct, Aqualung the song was never a single and therefore never a hit. Living in The Past was Tull's biggest hit.

I'm with you with Hocus Pocus.

Yes, it is close between "Living and The Past" and "Bungle In The Jungle" as being their biggest hit.

Don't know regarding sales numbers but LITP pips BITJ in terms of chart success.

LITP reached No. 3 on the UK charts in 1969 and No. 11 on the Billboard charts in 1973.

BITJ did not chart in the UK but reached No.12 on the Billboard charts in 1974.

Actually, the song "Thick as a Brick" went to #1 in the US and #5 in the UK, so technically it's their best selling single. It was a 43:46 minute single, but still...Wink

So many great songs, it's really difficult to vote. However, I guess I'm going with "Nights in White Satin"... lately I've been very much into that song. I was thinking, shouldn't "Dust in the Wind" have been included among Kansas songs? Well, I don't remember if that one was included in the 10 polls, but if not I guess it was a major missing song.
