The Turbo Tax commercial said it best though. It went on about how the Super Bowl was a Holiday and party for those fans who had horses in the race, but for the rest of us we should file our taxes and get our refund checks...or something along those lines. For Seattle fans I am sure this was a great game. For everyone else, time to watch a re-run of the Pro Bowl, which apparently was a far more exciting football game. LOL

Denver fans did not like the game either. The Seahawks are entertaining. They played the game they said they would play and Denver was intimidated from the opening missed snap.

The defense's intensity set the tone early in the game and never let up and the offense was calm, cool and collected. Russell Wilson has been overlooked a little bit, too, in this one. He had a couple of bad passes, but otherwise, was perfect and the WRs stepped up, too, and made that offense unstoppable. Having Percy Harvin didn't hurt, either. Especially when the Broncos had very little game film to study his role in the Seahawks' system.

And now the excitement/struggle of free agency/team shuffles/contract talks/etc can begin to commence in earnest. Hoping my gmen will be more aggressive this year in free agency to fill some of their holes.

Ding Dong the witch is dead. Lions owner William Clay Ford Sr dies at age 88. He has owned the team for 50 years, in which time the Lions have won one playoff game. RIP and my condolences to his family, but thank God, maybe the Lions will finally try to be good.

His son seems more a man of action than WCF Sr. But I can never forgive Mr. Ford for keeping Russ Thomas as GM of the Lions for over 20 years (1967-1989). If you don't recall him, just think if Matt Millen stayed as GM for 2 decades AND tried to keep salaries low.

Hmmmm are there any Seahawk fans here?

We need one to start the 2014 thread, as is tradition.

I know Tim Leary is, but I thought he was also Stillers?

Guess it doesn't matter which has precedent! Tim start the new one when it's time.

So the Giants off season begins as us, realistic, fans expected: Justin Tuck and Hakeem Nicks shall test the free agency. Will be sad to see Tuck go, but one good year (which was mainly run stopping and 6 of his 11 sacks coming against RGIII who has worse pocket presence than Michael Vick) isn't worth his overall downslide in performance. We will miss you man.

Nicks....well, how quickly we forget. 2 seasons removed from a SB which Eli dragged the team through, dude has shown zero respect for him, or the team in 2013 and continues to show how much he wants out.

Excited about the new OC who has at least been saying all the right things (more up tempo, focus on fundamentals), and I'm praying to any divine being we'll get some quality O Linemen finally. Ideally also a TE (hope is Finley will follow McAdoo from Green Bay to NJ) and it'd be nice to get pass rush again. Talk has been Michael Sam will, sadly, fall a few rounds because of his coming out. I don't know if he can play NFL ball, but if so he could be a steal in a lower round...and with the Giants already being classy about it all, and NJ/NY being a liberal area it may be a good fit.

Would be a nice idea eh MWH?

Free Agents can be pricey though!

I hope they manage a combo of cheap but solid FAs and quality draft picks, Reese is pretty good with that.

Also, heard on WFAN rumors are Eli may re structure his contract, which would also be nice.

True. They don't have to go after the big guns, but somebody...somewhere. There are too many holes to realistically believe all of them can be filled by 7 (or even 10) rookies.

And truth. Eli is a team player.
