Hi everyone! My name is Lauren and I have a new progressive rock project called Paradigm in Time. I am currently trying to build up a fan base for the project so that when I record the first EP I will have at least a small audience to give it a listen! If you "like" my bands facebook page or follow on tumblr, I promise to check out and follow your projects in return. I will also send you a message telling you what I think :) I hope we can all connect and keep in contact in some way or another and encourage and inspire one another to continue the legacy of progressive music, no matter what genre!

But I think this is the wrong place for this kind of post.
But personally I love the enthusiasm. :) |

I made a few tracks about 3 years ago when I got hold of a music program. I just thought up some melodies and put the songs together. I don't know how to play an instrument so they are a bit rough and the drum program wasn't great for quick drumming so I stuck to slower beats for more realistic sounds. I kind of based the songs on vigilantes and fugitives. Good guys in the wrong place and on the run. Other songs are based on other things that came to my head. I used all my influence which consist of prog between 68 and 83 with all bands emerging before 1975. I need to add the programs to my computer again after I reformatted 2-3 years ago

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Have you been playing shows? As you know certain cities in the U.S. have an interest in Prog and there are venues to play. It may take a year till you reach the level of circulating around prog venues , but when facebook gets a hold of that information...you're fan base will increase over time. When fans of your music enjoy your performance, they tend to twist the arms of all the lawn chair prog fans who hardly travel anywhere to support anything but their job. The last venue I played was packed because of networking of fans on facebook. It's been close to 6 months of performing and now we have a following. The important thing is to perform in the right cities. Considering I am no longer in a Prog band and more commercially viable, it may have been at a faster pace for me...however..there are prog bands who return to the same venues and attract a decent size crowd. It is very "hands on" in that respect, but with facebook....your band has a better chance at becoming established somehow or in some way.

Hey guys! I am a 19 year old guitarist from Denmark and i've just recorded a new instrumental on my pc. If you got the time please check it out!
The sound may not be that good because i got no money for recording gear, but you will get the idea of the music. The drums is for the most part loops from EZ drummer, and guitar and bass is recorded with just a cable between guitar/bass and computer(no fancy soundcard).. lol thank you! |

^^ Well done! You made impressive use of pretty basic equipment, and the music was good stuff.

Heh, similar name.
My latest. http://xsparadigm.bandcamp.com/album/vortex It is, believe it or not a ... kind of concept album. Easy to do with no lyrics I suppose. A glance at the world to day. And back again. There's another on the site but a very different idea. I call 'em electronic for the sake of calling 'em something. Cover looks like a mash up of Dark Side meets Hostel but there is some conceptual continuity there. All instrumental so no one has to put up with an awful singer! Just everything else... |

Hey Guys,
I have a prog/Metal band in Los Angeles and we have a first gig coming up and we are in the process of recording a Demo/EP. The only thing that we are all kind of stuck on is a band name. If any of you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate if you gave us some ideas. Thanks guys! |

Hi All,
Great forum for discussions! If any of you have time, check out my latest musical project. Considered prog rock by most, but it's a combination of prog rock, classic rock, and kind of a gothic-flavored acoustic rock mix.
