All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

To illustrate how much I love this album, check out the wall behind me in this picture.

As far as my Favorite album of all time--
The Final Countdown By Europe.
That is what got me into metal and it will likely remain the best album in my mind ever.

My favorite PROG album, though?
Hmm... I can't say I really like a lot of Prog albums at least in most definitions.

But I'll go with this:

Can't say I like a LOT of what's on this album, but they definitely managed to get a good track in "A Serpent's Kiss".

"Let us scream like Tom Mallicoat, and whisper like Geoff Tate, for the difference between the two is nigh."

It's actually sneaking in. I took that shot for my official work photo and deliberately used My Foxtrot art as a background.

Is this statement satirical in nature, or does Europe actually have something to do with metal?

EXCUSE ME???
If you wanna argue Europe is not Metal, THEN IT'S ON, BUCKO.
CREATE A THREAD AND WHAM I'M THERE.

But for this thread I will simply say this:
They are Pop Metal, which, for someone like myself back then, just starting to mature in his musical interests, makes Metal a very accessible & catchy thing.
Sure, now I like stuff that's heavier.
But if I had never got into Europe?
Who knows, maybe I'd be a "Fun." (worst band ever) addict.

But if you're trying to say that because it's not Metal because it has keyboards, may I remind you that Malmsteen & Dreamtheater are both known to have Keys as well!

That is all, Misguided Lunatic.

Or you could create it yourself and not soil this one, which has an entirely different premise. Stern Smile And what's with the name-calling?

I would respond, if I understood what the f**k you were going on about.

edit: this thread is about PROG albums anyway, let's not even start.

there are so many for me to name, however I will name one which is a bit forgotten, I am a big fan of Uriah Heep, David Byron and Ken Hensley era, not so much the band what came after this considering that they decided to take more a rock corporate suit predictable approach, to me it went downhill. Since Ken Hensley departure I have not bought one album since then.
Salisbury is my ultimate track and to date due to the complexity
hugs
