I went with The Unforgettable Fire, but it was a close tie with Angel of Harlem. What sealed it for me: I don't really care for Rattle and Hum, and I believe that side one of The Unforgettable Fire is perfect. (Unfortunately, there's side two, which IMO drags the album down... The upside: Side Two's "Bad" became a stunner live.)

Angel of Harlem needs some love, although I nearly went for TUF.
I agree with jude111 about "Bad" - sensational song live (the studio version's not too shabby) except when I saw them at Milton Keynes and the tape broke down.

I've been listening to U2 a lot recently. The Unforgettable Fire is one of my favorite songs and albums by them, but The Wanderer is a special song. RIP Johnny.

Zooropa was their last album that I loved; the albums afterwards just didn't do it anymore...

The albums were meh, not awful, but they still put out good songs here and there im my opinion.
City of Blinding Lights is a great U2 song.

Two Hearts Beat As One really takes me back to a time when I was young and having the time of my life. I bought this album(War) the year it came out after being infactuated with the song New Years Day that was playing on the radio a lot back then. I was driving down to Toronto every Monday to go to college and back home Friday after school. I drove a 1979 Trans Am with a hopped up stereo. Such good memories with that car, it was a standard 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. Jacked up in the back so the wider tires with Crager rims wouldn't hit the frame. But yeah I was on my own with the blonde in a little house you could barely swing a cat in but those were the best of times.

The Unforgettable Fire will always win this poll :-) Great to see U2 here again. Try another poll for U2 with more comparable classic songs of theirs

I reckon Atomic Bomb maybe fell a bit short in parts but recently have revisted Pop & No Line On The Horizon and they are excellent, notwithsatnding the epic All That You Can't Leave Behind

The problem is none of their recent albums have a bite to them. I actually think the songs themselves are usually good, but they always sound like they're produced to death, like Sheryl Crow's producer got ahold of them somehow. Take the new songs, get the band playing in one room, maybe get the Edge to take more risks sonically and sh*t you basically have a 4 star U2 again.

^ Wrong.....well I disagree. Cannot see anything wrong with Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois or Dangermaus in the production booths. However in saying that, Eno produced Coldplay's MyloXyloto and that seems a tad overproduced. Ho hum...
