Finally gave this CD a listen today for the first time, very interesting! Civico 23 definitely operate in the heavier end of Italian prog, but they've got a great wild singer, and the music is very unpredictable!

Opinions on anyone who's heard it please!

Anyone else love this little beauty as much as I do? Sure there's more complex and adventurous albums to the found from the period, but it's a fine work.

By the way, Utnapishtim, nice review of the `L'estate di San Martino' disc! I love that album very much too, so lovely and relaxing!

Sounds great, Michael. I will have to check that one out. Nice to hear you enjoying yourself at work.

Happy to see UNREAL CITY with La Crudeltà Di Aprile with the 10th spot here on PA for 2013's highest ranked.
I feel they deserve a lot of recognition and respect. My favourite RPI album of 2013 anyway.
:)

The darker end of Italian progressive doesn't come any better than that, its a wonderful new album, and I'll be reviewing it shortly too.

Really cool gothic prog Album, rather different to the earlier ones.
Lots of guests and incedible operatic femvox by former Blooding Mask
lead vocalist.

Very interesting album with a very good 70s Retro hard rock and prog
mix. Like the singers unusual half spoken vocal style.

Have this one on rotation in my car.

Actually, Nick, YES! I think you would love this album! I'll also be putting up a review for it in a day or two, but I'll see if there's any Youtube clips available and you can have a listen!

Nick and others,

OK, so not Youtube clips that I can find, but you can stream the whole album right here:

http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pages/play-album.php?activeAlbum=00617%20-%20Il%20Segno%20Del%20Comando%20-%20Il%20Volto%20Verde

I've got the CD of it, lovely booklet, but I wish I had a vinyl copy of this one, that cover is quite unnerving!

Pierre, I forget, isn't the original Maxophone album one of the few that was released in both an Italian and English language version? I've got the Italian one, that's the only one I've ever heard.

By the way, I'll be giving al your little posts above a play when I'm home tonight! Will report back!

That's a great one Jim.

Have you heard Metamorfosi's "Inferno" yet?  That's one I keep coming back to.
