Remember, Neal Morse's solo albums are really Transatlantic-lite, not the other way around. (of course, his albums are still good)

Strange, I see NM's solo work as pretty heavy in parts to be honest, much heavier than TA.
Loving the new TA. Into The Blue is absolutely superb!! Listening today to Momentum and I have to say World Without End is absolutely immense and surely the best epic by Morse or any of his related bands (Flower Kings excepted of course ). |

Yeah World Without End is incredible. One of my favorite epics. Though there are so many epics from him I love. |

I like World Without End.
Though I would say that in my opinion Seeds Of Gold and All Of The Above are better.

^Haven't had time to listen to bonus tracks yet but 2 friends have told me the procol harum cover is really good.
NYC show is in 3 days. Love the setlist...a bit from all 3 earlier albums and pretty much the whole new one. |

Isn't that a solo effort by Gary Brooker?
Oh it's on their first release I see - I stand corrected - when I listened it didn't strike me as being PH, not weird enough !!! Edited by M27Barney - February 06 2014 at 11:17 |

Did you never hear the single recorded with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra back in the 70s then, Barney? |

To be honest, I only found out (a couple of years back) the "In Held, Twas I" on SMPTe - wasn't written by Transatlantic, and was in fact a cover!! I haven't listened to any PH except I've heard - Whiter Shade of Pale - on the radio and television - I just didn't think that conquistador was PH I thought that since they had covered some pop songs - it was by some 70's pop band - I didn't know that Gary Brooker was in PH!!! I don't know everything you know !!! Mind you - with practically every known fact being available on the interweb if you ask the right question...you young whipper-snappers have at your fingertips - mankinds collective knowledge - At one time only people with photographic memories could astonish you with their general knowledge - now it's any young oik with an I-phone.... |

Thanks for the young whipper snapper description - I suspect I'm probably the same age as you. I even saw PH in concert once
I used to have one of those cheap "Music For Pleasure" albums by Procol Harum. It was "A Salty Dog" but the track listing wasn't quite the same as is listed on Progarchives. It had a basic version of Conquistador on it - however the version with the orchestra (and the Transatlantic cover version) are both superior.

I reckon that you are older than me I was born in May 1965 !!
I have just reviewed TA, K - gave it three stars. Tracks three and five save it from being a complete klinker. The lyrics bug me, so it's probably not going to be on my radar for a while while I listen to other stuff... |

Just listened to that album or really song yesterday. Incredible stuff. His best lyrics and most emotional ending on any epic in my opinion! |
