But would be more frightening a vodka bottle with Ralph's face.

I believe that man is way too small in the scope of things to have a
hope of perceiving what is and what isn't - kind of like an intelligent
ant in an anthill trying to perceive man and what man is. Our greatest
minds throughout history are purely that - "our" greatest minds - and
maybe that must be remembered and contemplated. When one looks at the
scale of the planet we live on (never mind the solar system or the
universe) and then pictures himself on this planet of ours an individual
is not even a pinprick on a map of one city on the planet.

I came in here to insult him, not to defend him. As you said, he doesn't know how to write, so using a literal interpretation of his words would probably be a poor approximation to his thoughts, right? I told you want he meant. You can deny that. I don't care. I did my part.

I believe he doesn't know what he means.
He really beliefs science gave birth to humanity, that's what he said and the rest is just guessing with a guy who is obviously an ignorant who self proclaims himself as an intellectual.
The guy is nonsensical, he knows that Evolution Theory is scientific, so he believes science created humanity.
He doesn't understand the difference between science and the things that science studies.

I really doubt anyone could truly believe that science created humanity. I agree Ralph is kind of a douche but I think that's a case of poor communication of his ideas. Who could believe such a thing?

I have no idea what the climate is like in Peru, but Ivan may not realize how much of a pervasive issue Creationism is in the US. 46% of the country believes in it. Our politicians believe in it. It's taught in our schools. His statement has a pretty clear target.

He does not mean the academic discipline of Science gave us life. That is a completely absurd statement that a Neanderthal would find incredulous. [btw: I dislike the neanderthalist attitude here, as far as we know our Neanderthal cousins had brain as large as ours, if not larger, there is evidence that suggests they had the capacity for speech, art and music, and burial artefacts are strongly indicative of a belief in a afterlife which would suggest a religion. Don't underestimate the smarts of a Neanderthal]. He is using the word as a short-hand for the things that science studies. This is a common colloquial use of the word that even theists use in their rhetoric, we say "science" when we mean the guys in white lab coats that shout Eureka!, we say "science" when we mean physics or chemistry or biology or astronomy or mathematics, we say "science" when we mean photosynthesis or weak molecular bonding or evolution, we say "science" when we mean gravity or the gloop in shampoo that makes your hair shine or mumbo-jumbo of probiotic yoghurt. It is not good grammar but it is not bad grammar either, only a very obstinate person would ever take it literally.

In our country there's almost no creationists, we don't teach or believe in intelligent design
Because it's an 85% Catholic country and Catholics admit evolution.
I studied in a Catholic school and studied evolution.
But the 9% or 10% of protestant evangelicals in Perú, believe in creationism and consider us Catholics as some sort of heretics.
The 45% creationists in USA are most likely evangelicals.
