I get a Bebop kind of feel in the setting and tone, and possibly some of the characters. I like the idea of having the story told from multiple vantage points, but hope it isn't too difficult to keep up with. Not saying the the storytelling has to hold my hand, but it's just a thought.

I think Luck was my favorite character from Episode 1.
It's really not hard to keep up with, strangely enough. It gets pretty gory, though, so be warned.

Cool. I figured with the kid getting his head blown off that this show didn't sugarcoat anything.

LOL

Also i'm hearing a lot of Fullmetal Alchemist voice actors. I loved the cast there so it's nice to hear Wrath and Edward.

Baccano's brilliant, it'll all come together in the alst few episodes and with only 12 to start with it doesnt overload you. I wouldn't call it particularly gory, it isn't remotely in the same league as Elfen Lied for instance.

Re-watching Death Note. Would you believe I've only watched it once before several years ago, just as good as I remember it.

Finished Steins Gate last night, and for me, it's one of the best anime series I've ever seen.  Awesome characters and interesting story made for a pretty memorable experience.

On to Planetes now.

MillsLayne, if you have not seen the recent-ish (last year April) Steins; Gate movie it's worth watching.

since there's many Baccano! fans, any one like Durarara!! (same director/studio)?

I'll check it out.  Is it dubbed or just subbed?

i think it is only subbed at the moment. from memory it was subbed toward the end of last year; not sure what the usual time-lapse is for dubbed versions.

I didn't know there was a Steins;Gate movie, will have to check that out.

Durarara is on my "to watch" list, though I gather it's not considered as good as Baccano.

depends a bit on location. i was under the impression (tho' that impression can be easily dispelled if wrong) that Durarara was more warmly received than Baccano in Japan. regardless, comparisons between the two shows seem provoke mixed reactions; my tastes side with Durarara.

Having read a bit of the manga, I would say that it really isn't anything super special. My sister says the anime is a lot different.

I'm going through Mushi-Shi at the moment, and i know there are fans here so i was curious what everyone's favorite episode was? I'm up to Episode 6, but i really enjoyed "The Light of the Eyelid" (Epi.2)

Almost done with the series. Wow! It's incredible. I'll have to re watch though because there is so much depth that I've probably missed.

Anime guys, did any of you many years ago watch a funny series called Ranma 1/2? Kind of a martial arts/romance/PG-rated sex comedy?

If so, did the anime series ever have a proper ending? Did the manga itself even have a proper ending, or did it too just essentially stop?

Glad there's so much cool fansub stuff around these days, there's some terrific series available!

Ep. 2 was my favorite, but very close to it are 8, 11, 12, and 26

I ended up buying the whole series. Beautiful crisp blu ray. Just finished the whole series last night a 2nd time but with my roommate. (I converted him to anime ha ha!) Both our minds are blown. So much better the 2nd time. Plan on watching it with my sister a 3rd time over Spring Break hopefully! Steins; Gate is a Masterpiece!

Yes it is.  Along with Black Lagoon, SG is one of my new anime discoveries that will go down as some of my all time favorites.  So enjoyable from beginning to end.

I've seen about the first 20 episodes. It's funny(and too much nudity to be considered a PG) but it was already starting to get very repetitive, can't imagine how 140+ episodes of it would have gone so I can't tell you whether it properly finished or not.

Thanks Sleeper!

You might be right about the nudity, but I never felt it was ever...sleazy?! More silly and usually played for laughs!

I was looking on my shelf, I've got four season box sets of it (as well as the various OVA sets, movies, etc), and I realised I never watched past the second season. I know exactly what you mean about it starting to get repetive, even though I still used to get a smile from it.

I noticed there's a Bluray set coming out in a few weeks, I'm actually considering snaping it up.
