A bit harsh but yes, LOGH is amazing and surprisingly devoid of most anime tropes. A shame it's never had a release outside of Japan so those that don't like subs will be disappointed.

The only anime in the same vein and level of LoGH will be never released outside or even subbed:

Well i just finished Death Note. By far one of my favorites, loved it immensely.

Though i'm curious about what part what mentioned before? I think Matt said that he enjoyed it until a certain part and that someone else thought they knew what part he was referring to.

I liked THAT part. It was a great plan, the best part IMO.
That helicopter scene, when he planned to remember everything, it was forced enough. But I like Death Note.
btw, very hype

I just finished it, too.  Really good, although the second half didn't captivate me nearly as much as the first half.  Maybe because too many new characters were introduced or something.

Oh well, I'm on to Steins Gate now!

I will always consider Neon Genesis Evangelion (and to some extent, the Rebuild films) to be the single greatest anime ever made.

I cannot stress enough the raw emotion, lore, and longevity NGE emits from its assets. No other anime will be as heavily analyzed and (ironically) deconstructed as NGE. It holds a special place in my heart.
I don't give a sh*t what anyone says, Tales From Topographic Oceans is the best Yes album ever!

It's a great series but I always thought they messed up with the last couple of episodes, far too confusing and you really have to go and watch Death and Rebirth and The End of Evangelion to figure out what it was all about. 3.33 finally comes out this March, will definitely be getting that, but with Gainax financial problems I really hope Anno has enough money to get 4 made.

NGE it's a great/classic series but... have you ever watched ANY other deep/dementia sci-fi anime?

The DVD/Bluray release was delayed until August 12.

Crap, given that 3.0 hit the cinemas in 2012 they'd be able to get themselves sorted by now.

If you like deconstructions you should watched Madoka.

I started Baccano! today and i'm looking forward to the plot developing and the characters becoming more fleshed out.

I get a Bebop kind of feel in the setting and tone, and possibly some of the characters. I like the idea of having the story told from multiple vantage points, but hope it isn't too difficult to keep up with. Not saying the the storytelling has to hold my hand, but it's just a thought.

I think Luck was my favorite character from Episode 1.
