So it looks like Detroit got Bill Lazor as their OC. I think that's a great hire. I'm really not excited about losing him.

Ben McAdoo, QB coach from Green Bay has been hired as new Giants OC
He already gives me hope. Says he plans to run an "un tempo" and "attacking" offense. Wait.....even though Eli has always been best in the no huddle and up tempo, after 10 seasons will this finally be utilized!?!? I...must not cry in joy

Hey guys I really don't know too much about the coaching staffs of others teams....
The Vikes just hired Zimmer from the Bengals as a new head coach. Do you guys think he's good head coach material?
Bad move?
Not that any man out there is going to be able to save the Vikings

I think it's the coaching hire of the offseason. He's deserved it for awhile now. He's done wonders with Cincy. He's ready.

Yeah, I think it's a good choice. With all those potential offensive powerhouses in that division someone with a defensive mind/slant isn't a bad line of thinking.

I just read that he was hired as the Dolphins OC and that the Lions OC spot is still vacant. As long as Linehan's gone, I'm good. |

Given I feel like him and Rex Ryan are the best defensively-minded coaches in the league and can get their defenses to outperform their talent on paper, absolutely. I'm sad to see him go, but I knew it was inevitable and you guys picked up the best HC hire for this offseason. They're going to be a much better team at least defensively.

Ultimately, Belichick's two most important decision for the Partriots were: 1) Drafting Brady, and 2) keeping this guy around. Not to mention he's the only guy in the organization who's been around for all 7 franchise SB appearances.

Thanks for the intel guys. There sure is a lot of buzz here locally, people are excited. Leslie Frazier was a really good guy, well liked by everyone, but it just didn't seem to be going anywhere. Hopefully AP will be back and we can add a QB other than Christian Ponder, for starters.

Yeah that report ended up being false. My comments still stand just directed towards to Dolphins now. |

In Giants news...they fired the TE and RB coaches. Probably not an awful idea...although the O-line coach should be in the cross-hairs as well IMO.

I don't think the issue with the OLine is coaching. It's just talent. Though I would say the same for TE and RB.

Gunther Cunningham is out as Detroit's DC and Teryl Austin is the new DC, who spent the last three seasons as the Raven's secondary coach. OC and QB coach (key!) is still vacant.

Oh no doubt. But idk...at a certain point I would hope that good coaching could make them better...not good or great, but more serviceable than they were. That said I certainly hope for changes coming into next year. Hell, I'd be more comfortable with three rookies on the line than the 2013 bunch. |

Also:
Championship sunday coming up tomorrow. I'll be predictable. Seahawks (perhaps closer than the last two meetings in Seattle, but a fair win by the Hawks) Broncos (frankly, a toss up in my mind...but I think Denver's O can pull it out. Could be who gets the ball last however.) I do think they have the best four teams though, so I'm looking forward to some good games. |

Well at the start of the playoffs I predicted the 49ers would win it all even though I don't like them so yes i'm cheering for the Seahawks, and I think the Patriots will win over the Broncos and i'm also cheering for the Patriots.

Getting jacked up for these classic matchups! It could be the last time we see Brady vs Manning in a championship game (I know, its more of Belechek vs Manning). The second game should be an edgy, defensive slugfest.
I want to see Broncos and Seahawks in the SB, but the late offensive woes of Seattle make me a little nervous. Anyway, some old NFL Films music link for the gang to get pumped up on. I used to love those old songs, even remember recording them off of the TV with an old portable reel to reel tape player. Then play it out in the yard while we would jump into bushes like it was the defensive line, or catch passes while flipping over the bush... good memories. |
