Sadly, they now say that the Titans former head coach is now the front runner. Not certain that that would be a positive change in direction from Jim Schwartz. At this point, they might as well re-hire Schwartz and make him work for his pile of dough.

Whisenhunt has always used a 3-4 defense. The amount of personnel change required for the Lions to change from 4-3 to 3-4 would be crazy, particularly since their linebackers are not 3-4 material, and given salary issues, the Lions cannot just pull 3-4 players out of thin air and for free. Not sure Whisenhunt would give the Lions a winner the first year with such a fundamental change.

Exactly.
If I were the Lions, I'd be rooting for someone more along the lines of Lovie or Zimmer. If we manage to still have Zimmer at the beginning of training camp, I told my brother I would deep-fry a sock.
Although at least Jay Gruden is finally gone. I think Synder thinks he got the other Gruden, so shhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell him!

Lovie was hired by the Bucs. I think he was pretty much everyone's first choice. It sounds like Zimmer is the front runner for the Vikings' job.

Well Lovie is already in Tampa so that's a tricky situation. I think Zimmer will be a great HC. I actually wanted the Eagles to go after him before the Chip Kelly hire. But I don't think he's right for the Lions. He's great at maximizing talent, but I think Lions should really focus on a O oriented coach who can get the most out of Stafford. Their offense could be scary if he improves his mechanics and gets a 2 WR.

Yeah...I was hoping they could pull off a lucky win (no pun intended).....well the Bears, Colts, and Packers are all out of it (teams I liked to support over the years) so for me that leaves the Broncos and Manning since he was a Colt for many years.

It really doesn't matter. Many years ago the Lions signed a can't miss coach in Mariucci. Well they missed and I am pretty sure he has never been heard from again.
