I know the feel.  If I could do it all over again I wouldn't have named myself HolyMoly. It was just a spur of the moment idea.   I don't think I ever thought I'd hang around here as much as I do.

You may have the ideal name, it never goes out of style.

Awesome, we made an Asteroids/Space Wars hybrid for my C++/Java class.  It was fun and easy to blow time on it.  I expect that using python will be a bit more challenging.  We did a simple IRC chat client with python and it was ... yuck

I've not touched C++/Java yet, but I would hesitate to now because I like how much nicer Python's syntax looks in comparison.

I've been trying to learn a bit of Haskell but it every thing I read breaks my mind a little more.
Yeah, in Python you don't need to worry so much about referencing, since all things are automatically referenced. You are less likely to mess up with dynamic memory allocation.

I've seen them.  Very good.  They cover all the Beatles eras equally well.

Incidentally, I don't really know what the appeal is watching people play blues songs.  Some rehearsed groups can play interesting songs using a blues basis, but when you have 4 guys who've never played together, they have little choice but to stick to the most basic templates, which amounts to 4 or 5 different variations on basically the same song.  Then the whole focus becomes, "how good are the solos?", and pretty soon it becomes clear it's a total self indulgent w**k-fest.  Which is fine, I guess, but I can't understand how people can really get into that same thing night after night.

Yeah, and open mic nights tend to be much of a muchness. I don't go to many anymore, maybe one at a local pub if one of my friends wants me to go. Usually more fun to be a part of than sitting and watching the same old sh*t, but playing the same old sh*t gets boring too of course. It was good getting some experience in my early days but I find little use in jam nights and the like anymore, since no one is into the kind of music I like really anyways, so it's almost useless trying to find similar musos. It's also great for the venue because they've got free (bar the person who supplies the equipment [usually]) live music to keep the punters drinkin'! I won't go any further with that subject though. Dunno if it's exactly the same in the U.S.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n6UK3rBMeE what you think of the gutiar solo in the end, the bass playing, the drumming and synths

i find the guitar is among the most elegent i have heard, so precise and sharp, and Nik is not even ranked on the top 100 of guitarplayers, but he is as articulate as Prince on the gutiar.
the guitar is grate butt i dunlike the drumming.

might as well be a drum machine, wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Surely not my kind of music cuz yea
it got Charlie Morgan on drums
