Impressive for 10 days, but make sure to practice with a metronome early on. Having an internal clock is essential and will help you not only sound better but produce better chops.

I plan to expand the kit fairly soon. First is a Ride cymbal, then maybe the cowbell

Thanks for uploading those clips, Austin. Nice to get a little peek at what I can expect to see and hear on Thursday.

Please share with us whatever new information you get on Helmut Köllen and Triumvirat. I find their story, and especially what happened to HK, sad but interesting.

I'm going out to an open mic night with 2 of my Rare Goat bandmates tonight.  See if we can't work our way into the scene and get some stage time which has been really lacking ever since we decided to stop accepting offers to play friends' parties for free.  Well Jack decided, actually, but it's his PA system so I've got to respect that.

Have fun Steve, it's what matters. Soon you will become the stage masters.

And good luck. :O

I hope so.  Hope it's not too blues-oriented a place, I can't really hold my own with the blues guys, not on guitar anyway.

You'd be surprised on how much people prefer a more laid back blues guitar. It's honestly the new thing i think, the whole guitar hero is only popular with the classic lovers. Whether thats your audience or not is unknown to me though.

I rather hear a guitarist that has more bits and pieces that have taste and groove, rather than someone who can sound like Beck for 6 minutes.
