Hmm, I'm liking this Echolyn track a lot on Youtube, which I've never heard before. (Rogue's of course a classic.) I think you recommended Eggshell Man in another post, which introduced me to that track for the first time. Although I don't get Magma or the RIO genre at all, I like these other songs you've listed. I like your taste in music; I'll have to check out more tracks on your list that I'm not familiar with.

You are right about my recommendation of Eggshell Man. I think it's in a thread about favourite 2013 songs.
Echolyn's entire album (imho the best 21st century album until now) can be listened on their bandcamp page.

Wow, this one's really nice too: 2006 - August in the Urals - Deluge Grander, I'll have to read up on them here at PA.

Listening now to 2003 - Movement III - Clearlight - excellent. I thought that was Phil Collins at first on vocals, and that he returned to prog. Excellent track.

Yes. I know, but, I did title the thread Your Favorite....., so, I'm ok with having everyone post their favorite prog pieces as they see fit (fingers crossed very tightly).

This took me the better part of four hours to do somewhat properly. Quite interesting, really!

Beer
Fair enough....but I'll start my list around 1967.....after I come up with a list that is.
Cool

Looking forward to it.

The amount of personal favorites I had to leave off is criminal: no "Dark Side of the Moon" tracks, "Thick as a Brick" , "The Lamb Lies Down...." tracks.....I could go on and on.......but, the point is to narrow the list down to specific songs by a specific year, so, playing editor on one's musical favorites can be quite difficult.

Forgot about the thread.....sorry. I'll make one up over the Thanksgiving holiday and post it.
Smile

It is the late Shaun Guerin. To my ears he sounds like Peter Gabriel in his heyday. I was quite flabbergasted when I heard this for the first time.

UK, Diagonal, Hypnos69 and Astra I must get around to listening to.

Renaissance, Camel, IQ, Legendary Pink Dots, White Willow, Flower Kings, Spocks Beard, Transatlantic, Phideaux and Wobbler I did hear some of their tracks but never went back to them. Must give them a second try.

The rest of your selections are awesome.

Just checked out this "30th anniversary version". Lots of echo, the female vocals sound remote and less bovine than Nico's, and it has a very psychedelic approach. I like this cover. Thanks Smile!

Just had a listen to this on Youtube. Really cool. I never heard this band before. I'll have to get a hold of their albums now! Smile

UPDATE: That http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQwvNz4UGko">Wobber track is excellent too. Another band I haven't heard before that I must check out more of.

UPDATE: Moved on to that Hypgnos 69 track, which is also new to me. In baseball parlance, you're 3 for 3 and batting a thousand! :-)
