^Thanks.
Maybe we could do with less cannibalism on the lineups of our favorites, and talk about why some particular offerings are more satisfactory to us. Just a thought . . . |

Everyone loves "Owner" even if they don't admit it. |

"Love" perhaps in the sense that it went to #1 and therefore generously funded other offerings; e.g., good for the band and therefore good for Prog.

This may brand me as someone without a worthy opinion. But I like some of the least popular Yes albums out there--Tormato & Union. I picked them both up as discount priced experiments so I had nothing to lose. Tormato was the first Yes album I ever heard and it fascinated me. Union was the first post-pop era Yes I had heard. Listening to both I admit, it's not their best work. But I believe they suffer by being compared to themselves. Without that bias I think they're both great, (despite what Wakeman thinks :) ) and better than 95% of the stuff out there. And I feel likewise about the material I've heard that was released after Union. (Though I've never heard Talk, which is routinely brutalized as a piece of crap.)

Sorry, Bitterblogger, but I am an American Conservitive, and I do believe in the golden age of rock.

^Rip away then. If it makes you feel better.
I'd rather listen to more than one song before trashing someone, though. |

I don't mean to sound bitter myself, but I couldn't help but notice that you didn't say anything in your argument about the actual music. You just said how it made them more popular. I think you need to be reminded of what the true spirit of prog really is.

1.Gates Of Delirium
2.And You And I 3.Ritual - Nous Sommes Du Soleil 4.The Revealing Science Of God - Dance Of The Dawn 5.Turn Of The Century 6.Awaken 7.Close To The Edge 8.Mind Drive 9.Starship Trooper: Life Seeker / Disillusion / Wurm 10.Siberian Khatru Can't say a bad thing about any of those tracks. And yes nothing from Fragile made my top ten list. Its not that I don't like it (there are some awesome epics to be found), but I've always seen it as the weakest link during their classic period. |

Talk is okay, IMO "I am Waiting" is the best Rabin-era Yes track (although what that actually means depends on your opinion of Rabin) and "Endless Dream" is excellent as well.

Well, Awaken is definitely number one (the best piece of music I've ever heard). Two would be Gates of Delirium (the Yesshows live version). Possibly Heart of The Sunrise at three just ahead of And You and I.
After that it gets messy. |

^ It goes to eleven
Surely the most idiosyncratic list. Only the GFTO tracks have previously been mentioned.
