I am going into New Posts and selecting 12 hours from the dropdown box. I then get 4 pages of threads, however when I select page 2 from the bottom RHS of the screen, the time in the dropdown box at the top changes to 1 minute in the past and displays only the most recently updated thread.

I've had this many times before but it usually works ok when you select 12 hours again, today it's not. I have tried several times, logged out and back in and it's still reverting the time back.

Could this be a cookie issue?

Yes. Call them biscuits like  any normal person  and have three with a cup of  tea immediately.

Ugh.  I don't know if this is the same issue, but I've always had problems on this site related to my "last login" and what are considered new posts.  Sometimes its fine.  Sometimes I log in after being away for a day and it says my last log in was just now.  Or sometimes, for example, 30 minutes ago.  And the computer wasn't even in use.  Or sometimes its fine when I first log in, but 15 minutes later, while I'm still logged in, its only showing me 'new posts' in the last few minutes.  Etc.  Very annoying!

It's doing it again, selected "Yesterday", click on the link to page 2, defaults back to 09:43.

It's a combination of cookies and an outdated forum system. We've been waiting for an update for... well... months now.

Once M@X gets around to updating, most of these petty issues should be taken care of.

It's happening again, I'm selecting "12 hours" from the dropdown box, which displays 3 pages of threads. I click on page 3, the dropdown box changes to "11:10" and I get 2 threads.

Here's a scary thought.... the programmers who code the forum are no brighter nor thicker than the programmers who code Air Traffic Control, Security Systems, Banks and ATMs, Nuclear Power Stations, Missile Command and Control Systems, Drones, Thermonuclear Devices, the iPhone, your Microwave Oven and your Sky Box.

"Please select countdown for missile launch"
"12 hours"
"You have selected... 12 minutes"
"12 hours!"
"You have selected... 12 seconds"
"TWELVE HOURS!!!"
"You have selected... triple venti sugar-free, non-fat, extra foam, extra caramel, with whip caramel macchiato with regular coffee poured down the side with 2 packs of raw sugar and a stir stick... have a nice day"
What?

I have had the same problem with the New Posts function...as well as with having to re-login.  It seems to take 3 or 4 tries of logging in before I am actually logged in.  I started using Firefox because I started to have annoying issues with Explorer, but the Firefox issues seem to be just as annoying.

I code for Banks (sometimes) and I hardly ever get hours and seconds mixed up.

LOL yup, I hardly ever make those errors either.

However, I've seen programmers screw up the conversion from nanoseconds to seconds and fumble with the conversion of Unix to CLR timestamps so nothing surprises me any more. (One clown managed to wipe out the Datestamps of every file on our server because he didn't realise Win32 wasn't the same date/time format as WinNT - needless to say he went on to make a small fortune as a consultant during the "millennium bug" fiasco).

I have a similar problem. The system doesn't mark the posts that I've read. Whenever I want to read new posts, the system shows me old posts. I can live with this, but it's very annoying. I deleted cookies, logged out and logged in many times and nothing. Wacko
