I have seen a couple of these so called factual programs on History Channel and they make me laugh like a rabbit. they spins out ths outragious conspirasies, fantasy mumbojumbo, and half-nonsense. its good for entertainment, and ther are more things hidden in old time history then the history books tells us, and as futher back we go in resaearch for the truth in historical and archeological sites, the more speculation you ought to make, but the speculation ought to also be truthfull, and i can also understand why a cartain tendency to cling to fantasy is intended, since our brain is both abstract and concrete.
on the oppesite side of the coin, I really love fantasy, myth, legends, sagas, folklore, mythology, on an aestheic level, as much as i love astronomy, palentology, archeology, history, geography. I love to say " great art is a piece of science and great science is aesthetic/art "
but this sereies is just wierd and nuts, but also fun and pop-corn entertainment at it beast, it has even gotten its own meme

Ancient Aliens has been on for several years now as a series. I used to watch it because I've always been interested in the ufo phenomenon but it is a highly speculative show geared towards entertainment. They throw in a few facts here and there and then try to use that to make a wild claim about aliens and the newer ones are very conspiracy oriented.
It can be fun to watch at times.
What specific 'meme' are you referring to? Someone created an alien meme generator a while back...is that what you mean..?
btw..if you like that kind of alien conspiracy approach I recommend the book The Gods Of Eden by William Bramley.

yes, i made that conclusion myself, i find its interesting and ther is something out there im sure, be it in this universe or in anther universe (if there is any more of them,) or in another dimension then ours, or we are......all........alone, i actualy think there is actualy quite reaasnoble to think that we are alone as well as to think maybe someplace out there in the wastness of our univsrse is ther lifeforms

Can you elaborate on why you think it's 'reasonable' to think we are alone in the Universe?
It would seem, based on the odds alone regarding earth based or habitable planets, that there would be all kinds of various life forms out there.

Remember, the universe is big. Like really big. I'd say it's likely that SOMEWHERE there are other life forms, but not necessarily anywhere close enough to conceivably ever be able to reach us.
I'm no skeptic, though. I'm a strong believer of the idea that we as a race have not even begun to understand what's out there.

im not saying that our solar system is the sole benecial way for a life on a orbitual object, but that its from what i have read and seen on TV quite lot of happenstance and randomness at hand.

The fact that the Galaxy is so large (and I'm not even talking about the Universe here..) seems to lead us to the idea that it's quite likely that there are sentient species out there. I've read some science mags, mostly Discover, and seen science programs (not History channel) and a good many (the majority?) of exobiologists, biologists, evolutionists, etc seem to think it's a very good bet that life is out there. That doesn't mean 'they' have visited earth and are doing so now and I'm also skeptical about that.....but imo it's probably a safe bet that there are multiple species, some below us, some even with us, and some more advanced than us inhabiting various worlds out there. The problem comes in thinking about how they might get here since space is so vast and dangerous regarding interstellar travel.

I tried to watch one of the episodes, but it was funny for only the first 15 minutes. It becomes quickly boring.
Furthermore, I already read these kind of crazy theories from other authors, more... Er, let's say, "talented". Talented in a twisted way, but talented anyhow.

I've watched the whole series and find it very enjoyable and thought provoking. Examining archaeological evidence and providing alternative theories as to it's origin or purpose with no chance of being proven or dis-proven has a certain Lovecraftian charm! What I find amusing is the handful of guests who regularly appear throughout the series and call themselves "Ancient Alien Theorists". They remind me of "Crypto-Zoologists", there's no educational requirements, no doctorate program, no qualifications of any kind, you just start calling yourself that and you become one

Neither opinion is a safe assumption. We just don't know.
Any guess is no better than flipping a coin or rolling a dice. The odds of there being one planet bearing intelligent life in the Universe (or Galaxy) is exactly the same as two planets, finding two planets with intelligent life does not change the odds of finding a third. The only accurate statement we can make is that the probability of there being more than zero intelligent life bearing planets in the Milky Way galaxy is exactly one.
Whatever method you use for arriving at a conclusion it is all based upon assumptions and "educated guesses", even the Drake equation relies on 7 major assumptions of uncertain value, which in turn are based upon many more assumptions. We only have the data from one observed intelligent species occupying one mediocre planet orbiting an insignificant star in the backwater of a nondescript galaxy to go on and everything we know about the possibility of life on other planets is extrapolated from that one single data-point. Statistics, even using the huge number of galaxies in the Universe and the huge number of stars in each galaxy, do not demonstrate that we are not alone or that we are alone.
