Not Swedish. Before 1994 Two fore names and a surname (she is known for her married name).

Yep, a poet (and author in general)
Not a scientist or a writer of science.

I remember 6 February 1985. I was living temporarily with my brother, his girlfriend and two or three other people at the time. I came home from a lesson at the university when my brother’s girlfriend said to me, "Espen, I have some sad news for you." Inger Hagerup was a very complicated person. Highly intelligent with a special talent for language, yet her poems didn’t come easily. It was more toil than inspiration. She was a communist – and yet she loved Israel. OK, that’s understandable: She was there. She could see what happened. As an anti-nazi she had to flee to Sweden during WWII together with my grandfather, Anders, and their son, Helge, who 20 years later became my father. In some ways she remained a child all her life, and she wrote wonderful poems for children, but still she had great difficulties communicating with children. The last years of her life she lived with my uncle, Klaus, and his family outside Fredrikstad in the southeast of Norway. Klaus has told me that she reread the complete works of Dickens just before she died. As bookmarks she used whatever she could find: slices of cheese, ham, salami … Tomorrow we will celebrate Επέτειος του «'Οχι», the no-day. October 28 1940 Ioannis Metaxa told the Italians that Greece was Greek. Even though Metaxa was more or less a fascist himself, we see this day as an anti-fascism day. That’s why we celebrate it.

I was disappointed others didn't come in to guess her, Espen.
However your recollections of her are great. Thanks for that.
I guess you best have the next go!

I'm sorry, I had little time this weekend. We had my wife's cousin over from Italy. However, I checked the Wiki entry of Inger Hagerup hoping to retrieve some info that would lead me to Espen's birth place, but I did not think about lucky guesses at that point.
@refugee: Is the Greek spirit named after this guy? I drank two brandy glasses of 7* of it in the mezethes restaurant where my daughter works - enough to make my day .
