The turn of a friendly card gets my vote, only in the case that this means the whole suite in the side-two.
That said, I would like to mention the Ammonia Avenue (the song, not the album) as my personal favorite. The album itself is a mediocre work which doesnt give some of its song, well only this one last track really, a proper credit. This track alone is worth the price of that whole album and is amongst the best number in APP career.

I went with "I wouldn't want to be like you" from their best album. "I Robot", but my favourite song from them by far is the one after it on the album "Some other Time". Gives me goosebumps every time

Oh, I do like Alan Parsons very much. They got many outstanding songs, specially on their first albums, and there are many I really love that I would like to vote for, either from the ones chosen by Ivan or some he left out. However, seeing that "La Sagrada Familia" is often forgotten (perhaps because it was released by the end of the Project's life), I choose to vote for it, for it is a fantastic song as good as any from their golden period.
From that album (Gaudi) I like Paseo de Gracia much more, but both are great
Yeah, but Paseo de Gracia is just like a shorter instrumental version of Sagrada Familia (almost just a reprise), and so it feels kind of incomplete to me.
Went with THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER.
Pt 4 of that song, PAVANE is so beautiful and melodic. Really adds balance to the song overall.
Also. A nice honorable meantion would be SOME OTHER TIME.
That song is ridiculously good and it has probably the strongest chorus in any APP song in my opinion...well maybe TURN OF A FRIENDLY CARD pt 1 and 4 could give it a run for its money. Anyway, PETER STRAKER vocals and IAN BAIRNSON's Acoustic guitar are sublime. Not to meantion a killer Orchestra arranged and conducted by Andrew Powell.
Hmmm...when I first got into prog, I kind of went on a bit of an APP bender, buying up pretty much all their albums on CD at a great price....I can't say I listen to them that much these days, but I really enjoy them, wouldn't dream of getting rid of them!
I think I'll pick `The Raven', if only because it pops into my head quite regularly! But tracks like `Limelight', `Games People Play', `Don't Answer Me', `What Goes Up...' all come to mind as catchy and enjoyable pop pieces! :)
Don't you dare ever get rid of them!!!
Hey Michael. I am really glad to hear that APP sparked your Prog interest way back when. We all have our bases and APP benders are awesome! I-Robot is my favourite album. It is retarted how great that album is followed by Tales as runner up. :)

I have already voted for "La Sagrada Familia", quiet a while ago. But since this thread has resurfaced, I may add that I really love "The Raven" (among many other songs from them), but for the that song sounds kind of incomplet if it doesn't have "A Dream within a Dream" as an introduction.
A tune I haven't seen mentioned yet is the fabulous Breakdown off of I Robot. I love the ending with those female Opera-like vocals. I get chills every time. Possibly my fave APP tune ever.
