You can if you're in the NFC East this season.

Cincinnati's D-line could handle Denvers O-line, and after the game against the Patriots, their secondary could probably help keep the Broncos to under 30 points. Of course, their offense can be anemic enough to keep them out of the game.

Who's the second best team in the AFC right now? That title is most assuredly up for grabs between Cincinnati, New England, Baltimore, Miami, and Indianapolis. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if those are the teams who make the playoffs behind Denver. I don't think Houston or Cleveland quite have what it takes. Cleveland is on the upswing, but I just don't see much more upside.
I agree on those all being AFC teams that make the playoffs. I think Cleveland's defense is certainly on the rise, but they still have a ways to go before I'm convinced they become serious competition for us in the AFC North. Although with the Steelers likely out of it for 2-3 years, you never know.

I think defensively, we can hold our own. If Brady can't even put up 200 yards against our D, and we can hold guys like Brees and Rodgers to under 300, I don't see Peyton scoring 30 on our defense. I think how far we go in the playoffs is how well the offense gels. I don't think Andy has to necessarily make huge leaps and bounds, but he certainly needs to not turn the ball over. I think if that gets corrected, we can hold our own against any team.

But man, that defense. We can just rush 4 all day long and still get pressure! Not to mention we've had Johnson out and Leon Hall's been gone the past 2 weeks. Although Marvin said his chances of playing against the Bills on Sunday seem pretty good. But the guys who have filled in have certainly stepped up.

Another thing about Dalton too. I remember reading a lot of negativity about Dalton in his first season with the Bengals back in 2011, because he was very conservative with the football. He didn't throw many picks, and he was content to throw the ball away rather than force throws. On the other hand, he's changed his approach last season and this one, where he's being more aggressive, and has thus turned the ball over more. Last season he was hurt by a poor running game, and had to carry some of the weight himself. This season, the running game is still figuring things out, but is proving it's better than last season, but Dalton also seems to be trying to find that happy medium. I do hope he finds it.

Indeed, but that's not because of the number but talent. A team kinda needa talent, if you are 1-10 ya don't have it.
Which is why no, even in the NFC East the Giants wont rally, there's not enough skill to do so.

Which btw I still say the Falcons are lacking it, nice win for the Jets but it'll be harder against Pittsburgh. Geno certainly won't face such a laughably hands off defense at least.

Well....at least they were in this game and showed some fight. Yup, it's gotten so bad I have to take that as a victory lol :( sad. But was good to see this o line hold up pretty well. Hope they can keep this lineup here out. Offense looked so much better with a good line, shocker, even old slow ass Brandon Jacobs ran well : O. First good run game since 2009 I think lol

He had 3 tonight.  He's averaging 2/game, though, and is on pace for 32 this year.  And to think, the Giants are still in playoff contention at 0-6.

lolno
There's always the technicalities and blah blah but cmon man, 0-6 and can't win even when they can win.

We don't know the plays being run so we can only guess...one of those picks must've been a wrong route because Eli threw it to no one...a bunch of bears were nearby though, but no doubt the pick six, in the end, cost them.
Still zero pressure, still frustrating play calling. At least after this season Kevin Gilbride can finally get the axe. How many times does he run on 2nd & 10? Must be like 90% and the deep ball is great, but with how awful the offense has struggled, I'd like to maybe see some more confidence building/time consuming shorter passes. The classic Gilbride play calling: Deep pass on 1st down, misses, run on 2nd&10, goes for 2 yards, now in 3rd and 8LOL This must happen like 75% of Giant's drives.

But yeah, at least the O line looked better. Held a pretty good pocket and open up some nice holes. Jacobs actually ran OK on his own though, breaking tackles again and even running around the lineShocked Eli can still do what he does and forgot about 2 picks in 5 passes to have a solid enough game. Randle is showing major upside.
I really hope they hold onto Nicks, but since it's widely assumed they won't...at least another big time WR is in the making.

I wonder if the 2008 Detroit Lions will start to get together as a team and celebrate when the last team finally gets its first win of the year, kind of like the 72 Dolphins get together to celebrate after the last team gets their first loss of the season.

Not related to football in any way, except that it involves a player, but guess this type of thing puts everything in perspective. Apparently Adrian Peterson had a child out of wedlock, no details really known yet, but the boyfriend of the kids mother beat the 2 year old kid..to the point where the boy was on life support and has now passed on. Very hard to wanna think about football at the moment.

Terrible. Guy's only 28 and has to deal with losing his kid.

I agree on him changing his approach. He needs to learn and continue to develop. I think the biggest thing with a QB like Dalton is building an effective team around him (which they've done) and keeping him from making too many mistakes i.e. turnovers. If he takes care of the ball and they don't try to force too much pressure on him, I think the system they have in place will work just fine.

And older article, but one that I think is still very relevant.

And yeah, terrible news about AP today. Thoughts going out to him and his family. A terribly tragic story.

Adrian Peterson has said he will play on Sunday, will help him to release some of his feelings.  How'd you liked to be the guys tasked with tackling him this week.

A tragic story...

Saints/Pats should be great.
And while 2 years ago I'd say the score may be 56-55, with the Pats much improve defense and lesser firepower now, I think this will be a Saints win but a moderately scored game.

Jets to win over Pitt in a tight one. Great defense and Steelers are so beat up.
Jacksonville will get an upset....by that I mean they lose by only 24 pointsLOL

Edit: TJ Yates takes over in Houston
Throws pick six
ouch

Houston has just given up on life, it seems.

Meanwhile, my Lions improve to 4-2 after shutting out Cleveland in the second half and scoring 24 unanswered points to win 31-17. Big smile

Well, I said Houston just wasn't that good and finally everyone can see it :D
You can't run a team on pretty much 3 people...

Beating Cleveland isn't much of a feat of course bro ;)

Jax/Den is surprisingly close, which sucks for my fantasy team >: (

Cleveland has a pretty stout defense and to score 24 unanswered points while also shutting out their offense in the second half?  Not what I expect from my team, no matter who they're playing.

Eh....stout maybe but it's the Brows lol

Sheesh you Lions fans really are a depressing lot! Did you honestly expect to lose to Cleveland??

WOW, I love have absolutely everything works out for the Pats. The refs missed Brees calling a timeout AND didn't call delay of game, both things that should benefit the Saints and it's a Pats interception. Amazing. Will their football luck ever run out? LOL
