Talking of scams...

Does anyone actually believe that these half price sales are actually sales? Do DFS ever sell a sofa at the full price? Do Magnet ever sell a kitchen at full price? Does a bear...etc etc

Wanted to share something a little different.  This is a docu-short that someone did about a homeless guy near where I live.  He's been on the same block of this street for decades and is quite well known by locals, and he tries to improve his street by keeping it clean.  The guy actually comes from a family with money and does not want their help, he prefers to live the way he does.

This dude does a really nice job of recording the story of Bones, a local character, a quiet soul. Bones doesn't speak in the piece, but you can see him chuckle in a few places as he listens to this dude talk about him.

Meet Bones of Rice street, Saint Paul MN

Slightly old news, but Sir Elton handing his GQ Man Of The Year Genius award back to Wilko was a true Shed-worthy gesture:

Sir Elton handed him his award saying: "You're the f****** genius here." He added: "He's too busy living life to think about f****** dying."

What?

Nah, that's wrong. It should be "insufficient disk space for drive C:\", not memory.

How to build a Shed - Popular Mechanics January 2001

Hopefully they will run a series on how to construct a state-of-the-art gramophone from an 1940s oak sideboard and parts from a Volvo 850 estate with built-in storage for 500 records, a stand for a cask of beer made from buckled bicycle wheels and plumbing for hand-pump & drip tray made from a flit-gun and several yards of garden hose.

Indeed.  I mentioned this t'other day to someone somewhere (my grey mind has forgotten exactly where it occurred).  I always presume DFS's sales are selling their sofas at an RRP price and the non-sales price is hiked-up but because they don't ever seem to not have a sale on, they're sofas are always RRP.

I might be wrong though.

They're still pulling the wool over our eyes though.

Anyhow, I have briefly returned from my hiatus.  I have no idea how long it has been and I am likely not to return back for any great length of time.  Not only have I not been posting anywhere on this forum, I successfully managed to not read a jot of it either.  So I therefore have no idea what has been occurring.

Anyhow, I am 33 years young and it seems I now have grey hairs popping up.  One particularly frisky one is dominating my forehead and so every time I look in the mirror it emerges.  Alas - rather stupidly - I removed said hair.  I suspect it will have its comeuppance fairly soon!

Ah well.  I just have to accept that soon I shall be wearing knitted jumpers, corduroys pulled up to my waist and start buying Pallas albums.

A progress report though:

I do not really listen to as much music as I used to.
I am one-half of a folk/acoustic duo -- I play harmonica and sing backing vocals

That is about it.

I do however have to disappear off again as it is that time of year where lots of things have to be sorted out.  Today it is the M.O.T.
