Seriously though, screw Rush and their poxy clockwork angels! Knifeworld are the proverbial tits.

I have my (signed) copy of this, a signed copy of Dear Lord No Deal, and finally the debut full-length, plus I got the Central Element v/a disc from the Believer's Roast label...includes a Knifeworld song unavailable elsewhere, plus William D. Drake, Monsoon Bassoon, etc.  All are awesome!

I just gave Clairvoyant Fortnight another spin and it lit me up.

Woooooohhhhhh!!!!! Thanks for the info David, this is excellent news. Just listened to it once, but I don't want to try it again, I'll save it for the album. I didn't know what to make of it in the first couple minutes but of course that ending has definitely won me over.

I'm so glad there's a thread about them cause they certainly don't get any attention, I can't get more frustrated when such a talented, creative and unique band is so overlooked while other bands recycle their own material for years and gets hundreds of reviews . So write more reviews guys! Yes Ori I mean you

Yeah, I just don't get why Knifeworld continue to be such an under-the-radar thing, especially round these parts. The most plausible explanation I can think of is that it's because they're as unafraid of a catchy pop hook as they are a Henry Cow-eseque jumble of horns and keys. The result is that they're simultaneously too poppy for the avant-prog fans and too avant-prog for the rest.

As you can see from my two month late response I'm on and off round here :-( (thank you idf) but maybe I'll write some at home :-)

I love the new album, it's a huge step forward from Clairvoyant Fortnight. They've got a real 8 piece band sound that Kavus has obviously written to exploit. It's pretty much been on permanent rotation in my car since I got it, it's wonderful driving music (along with the latest Chrome Hoof who share a couple of band members). It's got grooves, hooks, riffs & loads of ideas.

I don't often write reviews but I couldn't bear looking at that 2.5 rating for another day. It may end up as album of the year for me, it's certainly going to be top 5.
