Red is a band I recently discovered via the wonder of the internet. I'm surprised that this masterpiece has not found its way to the archive yet. Although the music is recorded in 1982/1983... it really sounds like vintage golden era stuff with some new keyboard sounds (obvious inspiration from KC's red?). I was truly blown away, and hope to see this added soon! Only one album was released by this band, unfortunately.

I would recommend listening to this track: [EDIT: SEE POST BELOW]
The whole album can be heard [EDIT: SEE POST BELOW], if you liked where that came from.
Discogs page for more info.

keep on rock and rollin'

edit: perhaps Jazz Rock / Fusion instead? I dunno, I'll let other people figure that out.

It seems the other links have died, so here is a Youtube version (full album):

every time I listen to this I hear different things. I guess the first track kind of sounds like Rush (YYZ in particular) mixed with some other influences - love it.

Thank you, but it's already under evaluation.

Edit: In fact, it has been rejected.

Sorry, I guess I didn't search well enough. I'd honestly like to hear why it was not accepted, I am very surprised... Should I dig up that thread, or continue posting here?

I'm listening to this right now.  Seems so right for Eclectic, I'm at a loss...

It has been rejected by the JR/F Team. We respect the team's decision.

No-one voted on a move to Eclectic.

Ok, well I'm voting for eclectic the most possible way my forum power allows, hence the title of this thread.

this is another type of alternative metal in the vein of Lacuna Coil, not Prog, not Jazz fusion, for sure.

Not jazz fusion, ok fine. Not prog? That's a pretty bold statement. Also, after listening to some Lacuna Oil, I have to question how much of the Red album you actually listened to before coming to your assumption. I cannot see many relevant connections between these two bands that relate to your argument.

Gotta say, I hear this as a jazz rock album, but then again I am not part of the team. If the lads in the fusion team have passed on it, then we have to respect their decision. That's why we have emSmile

Same here. Would've been a good fit for either Fusion or Eclectic, IMO.

That's a shame.

I don't want to be a nuisance or anything (well, maybe I do.. it's kind of fun), but how can I help get the ball rolling here - or is it already? Has this been submitted to the eclectic team yet? I'm sure they're busy reviewing other stuff, and have a list of other artists before they get to anything else, but I am eager to make sure this gets there.

In order for the eclectic team to evaluate this band, the jazzy guys needs to vote 'move' to eclectic. They haven't.

Personally, I don't think they fit in eclectic either.

Wait I can't for the life of me figure out why this band would not be on Progarchives.

I mean, it's definitely much more than just jam band music.

All right, cool stuff, and thanks! Anxious to see if this gets in, but I don't really see why it wouldn't - at least in somewhere, even if it isn't eclectic (but that would make the most sense to me!)
