Thanks Luna,
Would Djam Karet be considered post rock? They have no vocals and rely a lot on "textures" than composition.

^No one refers to them as such (and they predate the term), but some of their stuff could be considered what people call 'post-rock'.

Great. You know what I like. I take it you checked out This Empty Flow (which I posted earlier in the thread)?

Tbh, I haven't read through all the pages, but I doubt that Danish act Efterklang has been mentioned yet.
These guys are currently situated in Berlin. I gather the underground rock scene there is a tad more inspiring and open to change than the one found in Denmark. Ethereal, melodic, electronic, grandiose and indeed highly vocal orientated: Here's a banging performance with the wordless music orchestra. Comes highly recommended from yours truly |

Those Danes don't look like they should be grooving as hard as they are.
On another note, I like how the vocal melodies subvert expectations. Where you sometimes think he'll sing he doesn't. The unexpected silence gives it a rough, but poetic quality. |

^ f**kin awesome as usual Dave.
Anyway. My suggestion is GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR! I kid!!! I'm being a loser. Seriously though why not OFFICE OF STRATEGIC INFLUENCE (OSI)? I think these guys are New Math/Post Rock in a lot of ways and they combine other genres of music to make themselves even more interesting. I'd give all 4 of their albums a spin....OSI, FREE, BLOOD and FIRE MAKE THUNDER. I'd say FIRE MAKE THUNDER has the most Post rock/new Math flavor to it. ;) My best suggestion would be those guys. Great music. Period. Kevin Moore (ex-DT) is a freakin genius. |

The new album of Soup (Norway). It' sounds like Coldplay playing post/progressive/rock. http://aspenmusique.bandcamp.com/album/the-beauty-of-our-youth |

check some albums I've rated, some of them are decent song-oriented Post-Rock, like IMMANU EL debut or EKSO EKSO's 2008 release

I posted a song by them a couple of pages ago, Their EP is f**king amazing. Chino is a fountain of emotional brilliance. Here is yet another of his 'side' projects, Crosses. Not as post rock as Palms, but still worth a listen. Edited by ProgressToChange - December 19 2013 at 14:33 |
